If it was priority or express, they have built in insurance, but only if it was scanned 1st, then stolen. If 1st class and u did not separately insure, then go to your local post office and give them your tracking number and other pertinent info so they can search for it, again, had to have been scanned 1st.

If it was stolen before pickup, you have no recourse with USPS. Contact law enforcement. If the value of the item is sufficiently high, you may have coverage under your homeowner's/renter's insurance.
