Photos in Feedback are a crazy idea!

Who thought letting customers post photos in feedback is a good idea?  I certainly don't.  You already have a method for unhappy buyers to post photos to sellers showing problems.   Now, you want to not only let these photos appear in my feedback but also numerous photos of happy buyers showing off their collections to me, buyers showing what they did with the item, buyers showing me a picture of their cat, buyers showing me photos of things they are looking for etc.  all intermingled with photos I would rather not be shown on my website as I am a prudish, Presbyterian.  How far back am I going to have check my feedback everyday to be sure what is posted to MY SITE.  They have 30 days to post feedback - more if they don't pay for a long time - can they post photos for that long as well?   Will I have to scroll through 45 days of nonsense just to see what might have been posted and needs to be removed everyday?   Will anyone monitor what is posted to MY feedback from an outside source?  Why don't you just let Joe Schmoe run my listings as well?   Maybe they will do a better job....   This is one of the craziest things eBay has done and my feedback - which has always served me well-  may have to go private if this proves to be as bad as I think it will be.  And don't tell me eBay will happily remove any photos that are objectionable because that will only happen IF I can get through the eBay phone obstacle course, before being hung up on,  talk to an operator who has actually been given access to remove anything, that is in the right group and can speak English.

You are posting in a special third-party developer group where the conversations surround the technical aspects of making third-party-tools interface to eBay's API servers. Those of us looking just shrug our shoulders because the post is irrelevant to our programming issues. I've reported your post to be moved from this group to the open forums, but it has not yet happened. I'll try reporting it again. If you would like to gather feedback from other sellers, look at the "Buying & Selling" topics at the top of this forum page. Choose one of those forums - probably the Selling forum.

I sell on another site that has photos in feedback - most people don't bother.

Also, this has already been discussed pretty thoroughly here.  A quick search will bring up some threads.

Do you have any photos in your feedback?  I'd like to see what it looks like.  So few bother with feedback anyway, I can't imagine going to the trouble to do this in addition to commenting, but I guess some will.

While eBay has started allowing photo uploads when leaving feedback, the display of photos was to be implemented at a later date.  I don't think we are there yet.

By far, one of the dumbest things that ebay has done.  If the item is bad, why advertise a defective or broken item? It could keep buyers from buying on ebay.  It will also hurt ebay, not just the seller.  If the buyer is happy with their perfect shirt or purse, I don't care if I am researching that seller. It's a waste of time for me to look at the photo which will probably be small . What I look for is the seller's feedback.  So I do not see any purpose for allowing photos.  It's not going to get me to buy either from that seller because the buyer is happy with their shirt or toy or purse.   I just want to see the seller's feedback.

Also the ability of a 500 word feedback comment is also ridiculous.

I think I said it was stupid in an earlier thread and I stand by my opinion.  No good can come of this.

Etsy has allowed buyers to leave photos along with their feedback for years and it hasn’t created any huge issues that I know of ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Lack of comments are because this has been discussed to death already but since you wanted more comments, here goes.

I sell on another top platform, and they have always (to my knowledge) allowed photos in feedback. Just as on here, rarely do buyers take the time to leave FB, much less upload photos or even more than a single one. Those that do are always positive because if they had an issue it was resolved with a return. To be honest it can be fun to see the few photos my buyers have posted, as I enjoy seeing my items sitting on their shelves now. Best of luck to you....

All the time spent for the buyer to choose four DSRs, write out a negative paragraph or two, take time picturing and uploading the images, all for eBay to just remove the feedback comment.

It hasn't. All of the photos I've had in FB have been wonderful, with my buyers showing off their finds.
