Hello,
i have been an Ebay member for 12+ years, 100% seller feedback and 100% on time metric, 0 violations or complaints against me. It was initially a temporary ban, and asked to prove documentation for where i purchased the items. I did, the invoice shows my name, address, payment information, the items, matching Ebay. I was told by representatives to wait 24-48 hours and my account would be reinstated. Today, i got an email my account has been permanently banned, and Ebay is holding my $2500 in funds after they forced me to ship an order that was placed minutes before the temporary restrictions. Now the customer has a $3000 item, and my account is suspend and i’m not going to get the money. Is this a joke??
Anyone dealt with this non sense before? Do i need to lawyer up?

Sorry for your situation. From the looks of it you were drop shipping from a 3rd party retailer. That violates Ebay policy. Here's a note about what you can and cannot do where drop shipping is concerned:
Drop shipping and product sourcing
"However, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that ships directly to your customer is not allowed on eBay. Activity that doesn’t follow eBay policy could result in a range of actions including but not limited to: administratively ending or canceling listings, hiding or demoting all listings from search results, lowering seller rating, buying or selling restrictions, loss of buyer or seller protections, and account suspension. All fees paid or payable in relation to listings or accounts on which we take any action will not be refunded or otherwise credited to your account."
Bottom line is a you cannot purchase a customers order from another source, just because it's cheaper. It's dishonest and bad business.
Your funds will most likely be released in about 6 months time to your states unclaimed funds department. You can claim it there with proper ID.
Again, sorry for your situation. Best of luck with future career opportunities.

Thank you for your reply.
NO, i have never drop shipped ANY item. It is all shipped by ME personally, and always within Ebay’s stated timeframe. Where is the suggestion even coming from that i was drop shipping? This could not be further to the truth.
I also have invoices for every item listed, showing it was shipped to ME (my address matches my Ebay address), and there are even tracking numbers on the invoices i provided showing that it was shipped to me.

I find it hard to believe that ebay picked you at RANDOM and gave you a permanent suspension for NO REASON. But if you say so...

i find it random as well, which is why i’m here. I have the proof as well, including my 100% metrics and zero complaints, and if you did even a bit of research instead of making false accusations, you’d know that Ebay has admitted to doing this in the past (which resulted in the reinstatement of countless accounts since).

"Drop shipping". The photos look like from a retail store online. Maybe if you took a personal photo of item for sale and not use the retail store photo. Just a thought.

I made no accusations.
What accusation(s) did I make?

Thank you for your reply. Yes, i use the original photo from the manufacturer, but i have never drop shipped a SINGLE item and that is easily verifiable. It would be a stretch (in my personal opinion) for Ebay to think i am drop shipping because i use the item’s digital photo. The invoices i provided Ebay clearly show that the items were shipped to my address, which matches my Ebay account, and the tracking numbers show it was shipped out of my (the same) PO for 11+ years.

Guessing it's that $2800 item, maybe the 'other item' that is in the 100's. Sometimes having things for sale that are $20 as well as $3000- there is an 'issue'.. as well as the 'stock pictures'.
You should NEVER use stock photos unless you build slowly and have a 'pattern' of selling 'that type of stuff'.

@rboy9881 Maybe having "manufacturer direct" in the listing is causing it to appear as if it is drop shipped.
All I can suggest is if you have a contract with the manufacturer or have stock of the items in your possession, you should try to private message on the eBay for Business FaceBook page.
Maybe they can help or at least tell you why you are banned.

Thank you for your reply and insight. Completely understand why a $2800 item could trigger a temporary restriction and require proof of ownership or receipt (which i provided to Ebay). I have sold on Ebay for 11+ years and always used stock photos, i had no clue it could be an issue. I agree on the “manufacturer direct”, i had this to imply that i purchased it from
the manufacturer, not that the manufacturer is selling it directly or it’s being drop shipped, but i see how could be misconstrued. I don’t think that should warrant a permanent ban in my opinion, given my history and 100% metrics, and never having any complaints.

Thank you, will try that. I have all the items in my possession, i only ship and have ever shipped myself personally, the tracking numbers and invoices prove this easily. The “manufacturer direct” verbiage was to state it was purchased from the manufacturer directly, but i could see how that could be misconstrued and i should have used better verbiage.

You said the paperwork you submitted to Ebay had "...invoice shows my name, address, payment information, the items...". And that certainly is info they are after, but it is likely the most important piece of info would be your Vendor's name, address and possibly their logo on the invoice. Was that included?
