Paypal asking me to resolve unauthorized payment

Buyer purchases item and about 10 minutes later Paypal sends me an email about a possible unauthorized transaction. I logged into my account and Paypal is asking me to "resolve" it. The only choice of four that makes sense is "I haven't shipped, refund buyer". I'm glad to do that but the ebay side says print label and ship. I have never had this happen to me. I don't want a defect for not shipping the item.

Since this scenario is a first for me, I was like, what? I wish the buyer just asked to cancel. But maybe it was unauthorized use. The dispute just happened so quickly after the purchase....I'm still scratching my head.

My credit card company will send me a text message asking me whether I authorized this charge or not if there is any activity on my card that they deem suspicious ... I've had my card number stolen twice now and both times I had the card shut down and the fraudulent charges labeled as unauthorized within just a few minutes of them being made.  It's possible it was a similar situation in this case.

Re: Paypal asking me to resolve unauthorized payment

I would cancel with buyer request, that's what unauthorized use is anyway, the real owner of the credit card does not approve of this purchase going through.

Re: Paypal asking me to resolve unauthorized payment

I thought I would update the community on what happened. Btw all of your comments were helpful in one way or another. I didn't want to call PayPal so I just waited out the seven days and they refunded. Fine by me. It was either a chargeback or unauthorized use. But I have another question. The refund was through PayPal. I marked the item as unpaid in eBay but It's still showing the blue Print Label tab. Will eBay know about the chargeback with PayPal and reverse my FVF? Thanks again.

Re: Paypal asking me to resolve unauthorized payment

I need to correct my post. The Print Label instruction is gone but the item remains in the Sold list and the Leave Feddback button is also there. I don't want to leave feedback but I presume the "buyer" can also leave feedback if he/she chooses. Unbelieveable!
