Payout Problems

Nine days without a payout because of a problem that eBay acknowledges has nothing to do with me. Still no payouts scheduled. They acknowledge it is completely on their end. Four worthless phone calls with concierge including one who promised me a call back and I never heard from her again. Now they have thousands of dollars of my money. My bills have started to come due and I have no way to pay them. I have excellent buying opportunities for the next several days but may not be able to take advantage because eBay has my money. Zero updates for the last two days. It has become obvious that eBay simply does not care. Between this, the horrendously executed transition away from Paypal a few years back, and oh yeah, that time when nearly every one of the photos on my listings disappeared forever and had to be redone, it has become so very obvious that I cannot count on eBay in any way. I am a very small business that relies on eBay to simply pay me the money that I earned in a timely fashion. While the alternatives to eBay are few and less than ideal, I need to do everything I can to diversify before eBay ruins me. So **** disappointing.

I've not heard of Payout problems. Who is eBay blaming this on?

Did you update your payment method or register for managed payments? Are they asking for receipts or tracking numbers?  More info could be helpful.  You can always reach out on social media via Facebook if you need actual real help.  Ebay reps are known for giving incorrect and false info.

These are US CS agents who actually work for Ebay and may better serve you.  The others you spoke with are outsourced over seas contract labor and most times aren't helpful as you found out.

Lots of positive posts here on the forum with their ability to solve problems.

Give it a shot.

I wish you good luck and a good outcome.

Payout Problems

I'm happy to give more info. eBay is taking the blame themselves. Started getting messages about the IRS not accepting my EIN. I called concierge and the man told me he would resubmit and he would let me know if there was any further action required on my end. I waited a few days and called back just to be sure everything was okay as my payouts started being withheld. This time a different man said I was given bad information, that I needed to download a W-9 and verify my EIN. This cost me three days. Mind you, I've been a seller for over a decade and I've made no change to my business info. Nevertheless I did what they told me. I called back to verify everything was ok. I was told I had done everything I could, but that there was an internal problem at eBay that they were trying to rectify. This was last Friday. The woman I spoke with said she was going to work on the problem and get back to me ASAP. Monday came and went with no messages or calls. I waited until Tuesday afternoon and called AGAIN for an update. All he could say was that they were working on the problem, they couldn't figure out the issue, and that I was far from the only one having this problem. He noted that the woman I had spoken with the previous Friday was scheduled to call me that day. We agreed I would await that phone call. It never came. Then Wednesday came and went with no message or call. Now it is Thursday nearly noon Pacific, still no message or call. I don't know how I can possibly try to stay positive about this. It has happened at the worst possible time for me as I just made a large purchase of inventory that left me depleted. I'm out of bubble wrap and a specific type of shipping box but I can't purchase them. I just got a notice that one of my bills didn't receive payment because of lack of funds. This is stunning incompetence and carelessness on eBay's part. How else can I describe it?

Really sorry for your situation.  Financial problems are the worst.  Do what I advised and see if they can help with your situation.

Again, good luck.

I'm set to daily payouts.

I've been getting them every day.

No problem here.

I hope you get it worked out.

All of your information must exactly match.  This isn't an Ebay thing, it's a banking thing.

Your name must EXACTLY match the name on the Ebay account and the checking account. The addresses must match  and they must use a physical address, not a PO Box.   If you have a business account you have to use a business checking account.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Thanks. But I am not on Facebook and even if I were, I'm being told be eBay themselves that it is out of my hands and they are trying to fix the problem. And I'm dealing with US based concierge reps, not a call center in a foreign country. There's not a thing I can do. And frankly, if I need to go to Facebook for answers that eBay should be able to give me themselves, well that reaffirms what I said in my original post.

I want to be clear, if there is anything I can do on my end I am MORE than eager to do so immediately. I am not a new seller. I've been on managed payments since Paypal was kicked to the curb. You say it's not an eBay thing........well........eBay themselves disagrees. And if they find that it is something on my end, that makes this no better because they could have found any discrepancies weeks ago and I would have fixed them long before the situation got to this point.

@pedrothefish:

Let's simplify the answer that I think you need:

DO NOT, under any circumstances, trust the word of any supposed eBay "representative" on the phone. You've discovered this by your own experience and even by not being called back. They are not real eBay employees. They are badly-trained outsourced contractors, often based in a foreign country, who read from a script and will tell you anything just to get you off the phone.

I'm not sure, but you might be able to use Facebook as a guest. If not, follow thru and do what you say you are willing to do. Join Facebook and use it just for the purposes of contacting a real eBay employee with the authority to help you. Or, they may send you to a department that can help, and at least they'll give you information you can count on.

Contact them at https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness. Do not simply post a comment there, but instead click on the "Message" button toward the top of the page to contact them.

Cheers, Duffy

Sounds like it could be a banking issue. From previous posts here Bank of America gives a lot of people a hard time for transactions. Not sure who you bank with as well. Are your debit and credit card of your bank not expired?

It's a bank I set an account with specifically for ebay payouts, and it's been unchanged for years. Checked my card, not expired. And while I appreciate duffy4444's input, I'm being told that eBay cannot handle their own problems and that their employees are worthless. I'm wondering if Duffy has access to Concierge? Because as I've already said, I'm not dealing with a foreign call center. These ARE eBay employees. What this thread has now shown me is that I can't go to eBay with any problems, I have to go to some forum on a social networking site and hope someone randomly has the answer I need. This is stunning.

Yeah, I mean it could be an issue on Ebay's side, but the sheer number of sellers who post here trying to use bank accounts with incorrect info is a lot more than you'd think it would be.  Business accounts trying to use personal checking and vice versa, trying to use savings instead of checking,  names that don't exactly match, addresses that don't match...those tend to be by far the majority that I've seen.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Payout Problems

I have called eBay I guess 13 or 14 times. They are holding onto over $2000 of my money and I have not been paid out a dime since I started selling on eBay January 2024. I have wanted to talk to managers several times and was told that they are in a meeting and then I asked if I can hold and they say no the meeting was Going to be a while. I can tell that they are all reading scripts, which totally aggravates me because they don’t answer the questions. Then they tell me every time I call a new issue that has come about. I ask him how come that wasn’t addressed in the previous call that I made to them  I literally feel like it is a vicious circle. I actually asked one of the representatives if he was trying to get me upset. I am at my wits end and have no idea what to do at this point. I am now send an email saying that my account is restricted indefinitely, and I no longer can sell on eBay and you know what I think I am just not cut out for eBay and the frustration and the stress that it is causing me. I am still waiting for my funds to be released which is over $2000 and I haven’t been paid a dime for any of my items, thus far.   I have reached my boiling point a few times while on the phone with the agents that I can hardly understand. eBay is not worth the stress that it causes. And every time you call you get the same line that I have to wait 72 hours I told them the last time that I called I know the script by now.  I am sure this is happening to others, and not just me

I’m having the same issue. Seems odd that they got their monthly store subscription and all their fees on all items I sold
