"Your funds are on hold until 1 day after we can confirm delivery. We expect to release your funds on Aug 4."
Why is my money on hold? Is it because I'm a first time seller? I don't feel good about shipping until the money is in my account and I can see with my own eyes that yes, I have been paid. What can I do to get my money? They said, "sometimes place a hold on funds if there's an open claim or dispute on the transaction, if your buyer reports a problem with the transaction, if your account is restricted or suspended, or if you owe eBay money. If your funds are put on hold, we'll notify you by email and, depending on the reason, may request additional information from you to help resolve the issue."
There is no claims or disputes, that I got notice of, I don't think my account is restricted or suspended and I do not owe money to eBay. On top of things I never got an email from them saying my money was on hold. I've heard so many bad things about this place, I was beginning to rethink my choice in selling environment. At this point, I suppose I am just a little concerned about actually getting paid and if this is normal.
Paypal is my payment method*

@beautifullymad wrote:I have sold an item on Ebay today Oct 12th 2021 and I shipped it within a few ours supplying tracking. I have a 100% customer rating and have been a seller for many years, and was told my payment is on hold until it it delivered, which is estimated to be January 15th 2022!!! I can't tell you how angry I am with Ebay. To make matters worse, there is no way you can contact Ebay. All you can do is to go to their FAQ area for a circular journey to nowhere. Does anyone know how to contact an actual person in Ebay?
It wouldn't do much good to contact them, they'll tell you what you already know.

Do people ever actually read any earlier responses on an older thread ? Seems to me that would be the only benefit of coming in to one - to see the solutions, but apparently not LOL

I've been selling on eBay for over 20 years, took a break during the pandemic and now started again... and this just happened to me as well. I have a 100% Feedback rating and almost 1,500 transactions and have never missed a shipment.
I called eBay and they had ZERO REASONS for why they are doing this to me, and ZERO INFORMATION on how many of my auctions this will be applied to. So, terrible customer service on top of bully tactics.
I just listed a dozen items and if this happens to all of them, I will have to front the money for all the shipping, with no payments coming in. That could be a few hundred dollars. The whole point of selling on eBay is to make extra cash... this will create a cash crunch instead.
eBay just isn't worth the hassle anymore. And Buyers know to go to Etsy or Poshmark, Tradesy, because of what's happening to Sellers on eBay.
I will be pulling down all my auctions today, because I am not going to accept this treatment, after all the money I've made for them over the years.
Really disappointed.

Agreed. Ebay sucks now. I just sold an item and my funds are on hold. 17 year member with many buys and sales. Ridiculous to deal with this crap...

That would be very useful if the solutions were actually solutions

You had a few sales over a year ago, Ebay considers you a new seller with a $500 sale recently, therefore your funds will be held.

Not necessarily. I have never failed to ship on time {one day handling} and my funds are on hold!

Ditto. !7 years both buying and selling and my funds are arbitrarily being put on hold

Correct! The only solution will be when ebay discovers they lost so many sellers due to this **bleep** that they change it. Unfortunately there will be a lot of sellers that will never come back after putting up of ebay's ridiculous actions!

Computer algorithm! Makes no sense!

I see I'm not the only one with this problem! I'm an occasional seller, so I figured that is why they are punishing me by withholding MY money, but I see even experienced sellers are getting hit with this scam! And it IS a scam- holding the money until the buyers confirm delivery????? Really?????? When I buy things on ebay, I never take the time to go back and confirm delivery! And I'm sure 99% of other buyers never do either! So does that mean ebay will permanently STEAL our money???? It took me most of the year to get them to accept my bank account with their new ridiculous system, and now I can't even gt my money. This explains the real reason why they implemented that new system, though. It's so that they can hold onto OUR money! And I also see that there is absolutely NO seller protection any more. We have absolutely no recourse; if a scam buyer pretends they didn't get the item, we are out both the item and the money, with no way of fighting it!

The holds for experienced sellers depends on how long since they have sold. Until your few recent sales, looks like you havent sold anything for a year, thats why your funds are being held.Ebay doesnt have your money to hold, Ayden does.

With over thirty million sellers, dont think that will ever be a problem here. For every seller that leaves, hundreds more join.

You can use pending funds to pay for shipping, just scroll down to the left of the payment page.

Shouldnt be a problem with delivery confirmation.
