I am so confused on these payment holds… I have been doing really really well with my selling. I was told I was about to “graduate” as a seller and payment holds would not exist (by an eBay rep). Then, I get info from another rep that funds will ALWAYS be on hold for as long as you’re a seller… At this point, I am just frustrated at eBay… No one can give me a straight answer. So, no matter how well we follow policy and do what we need to do to have good rapport, they want to hold our money?
Clear this up for me fellow seller.

I took a minute to screenshot a 'typical' transaction from my payout screen
I circled the dates (date of sale and date of payout)
As you can see it is 2 days, which is pretty normal once you have consistency.....
I hope visual aids help you more than an ill-informed customer service rep.....

Nonsense. Simply not true.
In future, I would suggest asking questions here before trying to get an eBay rep on the phone. You will probably get a more knowledgeable answer from real eBay users that way. (If you Googled a phone number for eBay and called it, you were not talking to a real Customer Service rep. You have to request a phone call by following the Contact Us links on any eBay page, and then they will phone you.)

The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that means giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

The social media Chat accounts are covered by trained eBay employees with some authority.
And you get a transcript so you can compare what you heard with what you were told.
HELD PAYMENTS
Until you've been selling for 90 days and sold 25 items your payments will be held until tracking shows delivered, or in 21 days if there's no tracking. They can hold the payment for the full 21 days if you're selling in a high risk category.

Just to make sure, do you have a Managed Payments account set up?
Without that eBay cannot transfer your income to your bank.
You need your SSN and a checking account. You may be asked for secondary identification. DH used his driving license,I used my passport.

I did the managed payments for sure. That was a process, but I got it done.

Thank you, I’ve been beyond confused. The seller rules are so much different from when PayPal was able to be used as a payout method.

That was my mistake, I didn’t do what you listed. One of the reps was totally rude too! I was speechless on the phone for a minute. I honestly had no reply but, “wow”.

Did they ask for tracking numbers or receipts for the items you sold? Sometimes new sellers who start off selling high end items will set off red flags. If they do, make sure you give them what they ask for and you should be fine. New sellers are subject to holds and that is not unusual.
Good luck.

Oh yea, I made sure to supply all that. The people I spoke to were not having it. I even told them out of the 20+ items I sold, I had all positive customer experiences.

It's likely the 90 days and 25 sales that are the reason for the Hold.
The eBay phone reps are working from a script and are amazingly polite considering many of them are working in their second or third language.
The worst, and even those are not terrible, are the ones in Utah, who have difficulty with concepts like "Canada is not part of the USA" and we use our own postal system. And that Yankee accent!
Full disclosure, I have several Philippine nephews and nieces and love every one of them to bits.

For new sellers, it used to be you had to be selling for a certain amount of time, have so many transactions and a certain dollar amount, before they stopped holding funds..
Don't know how they do it now, but they don't hold them forever.

Hi my payment is on hold... Im not keen on sending goods until I have the money but I'm guessing this is no longer what ebay does.
Am I right in thinking my money will not get sent to my account until I ship?
This new system is soo confusing
