I just sold quite a few things and just noticed that the payment email address in them was wrong, so people have sent payments to the wrong email address. I didn't notice because I have a different paypal account linked to my ebay, the only one I've ever used. What should I do now?

Create an email account using the incorrect one that the payments went to and then create a paypal account with that email and the funds will be there waiting for you. Since it will be a new account, the funds will placed on hold until the buyers receive their items, or 21 days, or whatever it is that Paypal does with new accounts.

Nope.
Simply create the wrong email account and ADD it to your existing PayPal account.

I do have a paypal account with the email address that was paid but no payments have shown up in the account. Paypal says there's a problem with my account and that I need to verify who I am (I have uploaded my driver's license now). But it says I should still be able to receive money or payments.

How do I do that? Log in to the paypal that I want created and add my old one somehow? Please see my other comment as it may influence what you say.

That is because, for legal reasons (to prevent money laundering, tax evasion, etc) they have to verify who the account belongs to. Sam is probably right that you can add that email to your exisitng paypal account, but I don't know how.

Shouldn't the payments still show up in my account though? Because it says I can still receive payments.

I honestly don't know. I've never had to deal with a situation like that. Hopefully someone else can give you the advice you need.

If you make a typo in your listing email, the money is hanging ( or god forbid in a different acct )
This is one where a phone call may be needed.
You could try to make a new e-mail with the other name, but if it is in use, not so much.

You can add up to eight email addresses to your PayPal account.

Create an email account with the wrong email address.
Add it to your PayPal account and the money is yours.
