Why eBay allows buyer to file payment dispute right after order shipped? This is a big loophole.
I had a case like this, buyer never contacted me and filed payment dispute right after order shipped.
Order delivered 2 days after payment dispute, so I challenge the dispute.
Result: The buyer’s payment institution sided with the buyer, The good news is that you’re protected for this dispute under eBay seller protection policy. We won't deduct the dispute amount from your funds.
Yes, I finally got eBay seller protection to save the payment, but would this account for my defect rate ?
If so, why is this my defect?
This buyer is obviously trying to scam me, and our system allows this?
Why our system always leaves loopholes to encourage bad guys and discourage honest people ?

We just went thru the same thing - as soon as it showed PO scanned, Buyer filed a chargeback.
Be sure to

Reach out to e-Bay CS on social media to document the Buyer's actions.
Good luck!

sounds like eBay is working more to protect the seller. The timing of claim is nothing but a fraud / scam!
I would not care about a defect rate as a seller. You got your payment. I would care more about the buyer being blocked from eBay for good!

Before the item is delivered you can get it sent back to sender with some shipping companys. Did it with ups after someones fraudulent purchase.

This isn't an Ebay case, it's a charge back to the buyer's payment method. Ebay can't control when a buyer does that, it's between the buyer and their credit card or Paypal. They can do a charge back whenever they want for up to six months after the sale.

Yes, our system is crooked. and those credit card companies are the most corrupted accessories to these scams.
But what we sellers should most concerned is the fact this kind of scam should not be counted as "Cases closed without seller resolution" as a defect to sellers
I mean it's just too easy for these online shopping looters to sabotage eBay seller accounts and destroy sellers.
Simply use this loophole to file payment disputes right after orders shipped.
If we sellers have 10 of them a month, your seller account is doomed.
Anyone has a inside view from eBay to ensure this sort of disputes would not be counted as seller defect ?
