Howdy!
had a payment dispute for $200...Ebay sent an email today saying the ruled in my favor. BUT, I can't find the funds anywhere. It's not in available funds, and under the "funds on hold" tab, it shows zero funds held. So...where is it? Am i just overly eager and not giving Ebay time to sort/transfer, etc? (prob.!!)

Were the funds actually withdrawn from your funding source while the dispute was on hold?
or did it just show a (-) negative number (on hold)? without any transfer of actual funds....

You got your funds when you made the sale. It's eBay's streamlining that makes it more confusing.
Did they deduct $200 from you then give it back? That would be the zero.

Hi guys, thanks for responding! I was never given the funds in the first place, they were put on hold before the designated date for my bank payments from Ebay. It was always shown as Funds on hold, $200. Now under funds on hold it shows Zero held, and $0 dollars.

Your last sale was on July 11. You should have received the funds from that sale a day or so later. Why would the funds be on hold while the item was in transit to the buyer?

Typically unless you are a new seller and the funds were already on hold before the chargeback happens then the funds are transfered to you within 48 hours of the sale.
Then the chargeback happens and they put a hold. Once the hold drops then you aren't issued anything because you were already paid. It just zeros out instead of being a -$200.

Hi guys, thanks...I didn't receive the money because I chose to have my Ebay payment every 2 weeks. So in that 2 week period the item sold, and buyer received, and then promptly opened a payment dispute.
So to reiterate, I did NOT receive the funds ever, and they did not send a payout.

Additionally, if anyone has a payment dispute, but have already been paid, I imagine Ebay would then charge your bank account for the funds, so that they can "hold" it.

Ebay does not charge you for a chargeback until the chargeback has been decided.
Unless it falls under protections that you don't have to do something you are given 2 options.
1) accept and refund.
2) contest.
Perhaps you used the funds for other selling costs.
You haven't given us any real data so I can't say for certain obviously.

Hiya Robbie...gosh, I don't know what to think! For the last 3-4 weeks that the dispute was being investigated (I did contest it), it showed I had $200 on hold. I never was given the $200 in the first place. So... where is it, now that the dispute was resolved in my favor? What real data do you want to see??

Your transaction history would be the data starting from the day the hold was placed.
I know a lot of people who get surprised from a hold drop for 0$ because eBay never reversed the payment. All they had was a negative hold on the account.

I'm going to have to give up on this avenue of assistance, def. not getting anywhere. I don't know what "a hold drop of $0" means, and I don't see how giving you transaction details will answer my question. I do thank you though for trying to help.

Okay, looked deeper into my payouts...the last one was 2 days before the dispute was opened, so i guess I DID get paid! But why did Ebay state all along that they were holding $200?? How do they hold something they had already given me?? I'm getting too old for this, lol!! 😀

They were holding a negative amount against your account that would be deducted if you lost.
But yeah people typically miss the payout and hyper focus on the payment hold.
Then freak out once the hold comes off but their balance doesn't get credited the hold amount.
I'm glad you were able to find it in your transaction history. 🙂

I think you just need to look at your details. Follow the link below and it will take you to the page I have a screen shot of below. On the right you can see some of the details that have come through your account both positive and negative. If you don't see how they handled the $200, then just above those details, on the right side it says SEE ALL, I highlighted it. Click on that to see all your details.
