So I'm new to ebay selling and recently sold an item. When I checked my paypal balance, it said $ pending. Is it safe to ship the item now?

If that was in an email, go to your Paypal page and look for the payment.

PP does Hold your customer's cleared payment for up to 21 days (much less if you are based in the USA), but you will be able to use the Held funds to buy a shipping label.

Bonus: you probably get a discount on the postage for the shipping label.

NEVER believe an email. Always go to your eBay account or PP account when you get notices of sales or or payments.

I would call PayPal to see what the issue is.

(I cannot wait for eBay to roll out it's new Payment Partner.)

Do not ship now. Wait until the money is deposied into your account.

NO! Do not ship! eBay never says that - your buyer sent you a fake email. DO NOT SHIP unless PAYPAL says it is OK on the transaction details page of the payment. Do NOT believe anything that comes in an email to you.
