Paying more than the bid

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I won an auction for 52 pounds + post costs but when I wanna pay the checkout page is saying I need to pay 62 pounds for the item + post costs.

Anyone know why I need to pay more for my item then I bid for it?

Paying more than the bid

Probably VAT, is the seller located in the UK or elsewhere?

eBay collects VAT on orders purchased from outside the UK, unlike domestic purchases within the UK where VAT is included in the price.

Paying more than the bid

When you make a purchase on eBay, the total amount that you, the buyer, will pay will include: the item price, the shipping fee and the state sales tax, if applicable.

You need to re-read all of the available information about buyers' payments.  It's shown in more than one location.  When I make a purchase, I see all of that information BEFORE I click to pay and I would assume that you likewise see it.
