Bought a $40 item.
Initiated a INAD return.
Seller approved the return.
I go to print out a return label but I can't because shortly after approving the return the seller refunded me in full which closed the return case.
Can I assume the seller does not want the item back?
I messaged the seller but no response.
I want to do the right thing and return the item but not if I have to pay for the return shipping.

Yep, some sellers don't like to bother with returns.

As a seller, you know the right thing to do.

They probably figured the item wasn't worth having to pay return shipping, so they just refunded.
If they want it returned, they'll have to buy a shipping label and send it to you.

No, you do not have to return the item & you shouldn't. I rarely do this as a seller myself but so far twice this year I have refunded instead of waiting to get the item back because the item I sold was not worth the cost of the return shipping label as the items that was sold was already marked down quite a bit. In fact on the sellers end it says that if you refund the buyer prior to them sending it back that they(buyer) are not obligated to send the item back. No need to do so.

So often the case is that the person has less money invested in the item than the cost of getting the item back and definitely doesn't want to invest any more money into a problem item.
