Partial Refund

I sold a new water bottle and received a message from buyer that it was dented. I bubble wrapped it so I must have missed the dent. I don't have a replacement for it so the buyer said that they would keep it. I would like to do a partial refund. Can someone help me on how to do this?

Partial Refund

Go to the transaction in Seller hub.

When you refund your buyer, type in the amount to refund, vs the full amount defaulted.

E-bay does not return fvfs on partial returns.  Good luck!

Partial Refund

Instead of giving them a refund, send them a discount on the next product with a sincere apology
Although I don't know if the customer will return or not, but if they have been comfortable with you, your attitude is the most important thing.
(Assuming I'm a customer, if it doesn't seriously affect the customer, getting a part of the money back will make the customer feel more awkward)

Have the buyer open a NAD case and issue the partial refund through a formal process. Sometimes buyers phish for a discount claiming NAD but if they sent you a picture, or the buyer is a repeat customer chances are they are being honest.

Partial Refund

I don’t know wether you want it done on the app or website, but I’ll show you how both ways.

APP - Go to “selling,” with the price tag. You should see it on the bottom right once the app loads. After that, go to “sold,” and find the listing you want to give a partial refund. Press on the listing. Then you should see all kinds of buttons (track package, edit tracking number, contact buyer, relist item, sell similar item, send refund) scroll down to the bottom of the page and you should see the “send refund” button. Press on it, enter how much you want to refund, then press “review refund,” then…well…you’ll know what to do.

WEBSITE - Once you get on to the website, go to “My eBay (found on the top right of the eBay website page).” Go to “selling,” then “sold.” Once again, find the listing you want to give a partial refund. Once you find it, you should see three vertical dots. Click on the three dots and a bunch of options should show up. Find the “send refund” button. Press on it, do the amount you want to refund, then…well…you’ll know what to do. Good luck!
