Hi
I am a Above Standard seller on eBay and have tried to increase my sales by adding new items to list. It has taken more work on my part, but I felt it would be rewarding.
Does anyone else notice a definite drop in activity in the past two weeks? After I
doubled my items for sale, and the page views were changed, it seems as if most of
the previous activity I received, when I had fewer items, has ended. I thought with more items there might be more activity, but not zero. Twenty five to thirty new listings have constant 0 views 0 watchers, thirty others may have 1 or 2, and they may even disappear within a day. I've lowered my asking prices multiple times, but this doesn't seem to be about pricing, for some items may have very low prices and they will also have 0 activity.
Along with the new eBay view change, there is the new constant reminder to promote
Your Listing for an extra fee from eBay so that your item will be seen by more buyers and
have a better chance at getting sold. Offering free listings and then charging to have
listings more visible is confusing to me and now along with all the zero views & inactivity
makes me wonder. I was concerned when suddenly I got no questions, offers or sales
for 2 weeks so I called and spoke with a customer service rep who told me I wasn't the
1st to ask about a possible problem with all the many 0 views. Said it was a glich and
would add my account to the list for a technician to check. After over a week, I called
again to ask about the problem and this time the customer service rep told me not to worry that my account was still being seen in the US on Pacific time, and reminded me that because of the Pandemic there aren't as many viewers?-then advised me to use
the Promote Your Listing and that way I will probably get more people to see my items.
But I said I will have to pay extra for that and if not, it seems I keep relisting my items
and can't believe no one is interested at all for weeks. Does anyone else have a dramatic change in their activity? Thanks for listening!

There are many, many threads concerning these issues (there usually are). This may be of some help in answering your questions about views.

Thank you but it is not just a question of 0 views, but lack of activity. I am
seeing other posts and concerns about sudden dramatic difference & total
inactivity occurring in the past few weeks. It's almost as if items are not
being viewed at all?
I was at my local post office today and the Postal Clerk asked if there is some
big problem with eBay because they noticed hardly any packages to do with
eBay coming through when it used to be a steady flow?
If there is a more serious breach, rather than a glitch I hope that we will be
honestly informed.

The exact thing is happening to me too, along with 7 calls to ebay and 7 different answers from Ebay Reps. Zero page views and interest, when before I would have page views instantly when I listed them. I am a top rated seller of vintage items for 20 years and never had this happen before. Ebay said they would submit a priority request to the technical department to have my account checked and refreshed. but nothing. I posted one this morning to see if anything has changed and I still have zero views. I am so fed up with this that I will hold off listing anything because it just isn't worth it anymore. I wished Ebay would answer this.

I’m having the same issue, zero views on most items even when I have watchers on some of them. Hardly any sales for weeks now. Even items that have had multiple views previously are suddenly showing zero. I’ve also held off listing new items and am seriously considering moving everything onto Facebook Marketplace which I know works and also has no fees.

Yes, something funny's going on. June was the beginning of our busy season and on ebay instead of sales increasing they have almost flat-lined.
Could it be that in order to get sales you must pay for promotion. There's one way to find out. Promote some items and see what happens. I'm going to try that and increase the price to cover the extra charge.
My sales on Amazon are pretty steady, it used to be Ebay would always be more than Amazon, not any more.
Someone mentioned that even the USPS was seeing a decrease in ebay packages. I think I'll inquire at my local PO and see if they are experiencing the same thing.
The big question is why would ebay shoot itself in the foot like that?

My sales have collapsed since they started messing with the view count. I had 41 sales in May, 8 in June and none so far in July. I wish they would stop with the constant changes that seem to make things worse.

Zero views across the board for me. I didn't get a ton of traffic, but I would get some steady views. Now everything is 0. It's like no one is browsing eBay anymore.

Old view count: Showed bot views and human views.
New view count: Only shows human views.
How on earth would that affect sales?
