PRINTING A PACKING LIST?

As of today (03-13-2024) I can no longer print a packing list for an items sold........talked to an eBay rep, they said this is a new change, and eBay requires that YOU PURCHASE A SHIPPING LABEL from them before a packing slip can be printed!   Is this really correct?    We ship orders off our own manifest system (stamps.com) and have no need to purchase shipping thru eBay (which is more expensive).        Has anyone else run into this?

PRINTING A PACKING LIST?

When I click the PRINT SHIPPING LABEL link on the top of the page, it just doesn't respond at all.....AS IF it were a disabled link.    The button is still there, it's big and bold and blue (just like it always has been), but it just doesn't "work" any more.........

Shipping label is not the same thing as a packing slip.  So which is it?

Another thing.

I have noticed lately that the Seller Hub page will get stuck loading, and when that happens, a lot of things don't work.  I have to refresh the page and then it loads fine and then it works.  But this affects a lot of things, not just doing shipping stuff.

Any chance when you see that link that doesn't work and the browser is still "thinking"?

PRINTING A PACKING LIST?

I think people are mixing up some of what is being asked about here:

First off:

Use the seller hub.  You can go there from this link:

https://www.ebay.com/sh/ovw

Once here, you have several ways to get to different things.  To start with, printing a packing slip:

You can do it here:

https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS

Click that arrow pointing down:

Choose Print Packing Slip and more.

OR.

Go to this link:

https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/seller-hub

This works if you had already purchased a label.  IF you haven't, your order won't show up here!

Here again, you can print a packing slip.

Now.

Those wanting a pick list:

https://gslblui.ebay.com/gslblui/bulk?_trkparms=lblmgmt

But you will only get this to work if you have un-shipped packages.  I never use this tool, but its good for those with a lot more going on to keep track of.

But there is a pick list shown here:

Finally, with regards to labels themselves:

I almost never use the direct blue link they give you when an order is ready.  I go to the orders page first, that's linked above.  Just easier for me.  Usually that's because there are some details you can't pull there if you need to double check the item you are shipping (in my case, when someone buys an item from a variation listing).

But if THAT link isn't allowing you to print a label, then try from the earlier one under All Orders.  You can create a label there.

PRINTING A PACKING LIST?

@inhawaii wrote:

As a buyer, I never want or  even look at a packing list.

It goes straight to the trash.

So as a seller I do not use them.

Can anyone here who uses packing slips tell me why you use them?

I know the cons but what are the pros?

@inhawaii

Similar to @buyselljack2016  I print so buyer can confirm they got what they ordered. I also often ship to businesses that require a paper trail for receiving. Packing slips are a way of life for record keeping. Some may require for tax purposes. I will also attach one to label when I ship internationally. Paper confirmation the goods match the packing slip match the label verification.

PRINTING A PACKING LIST?

Having the same issue Buyer paid for the item went to print the packing slip and NOPE print shipping label does not work at all. Google got me this "

Why can't I print my packing slip on eBay?

Starting today the link to print a packing slip is not available on the Purchase shipping label page until a label is printed. Since the packing slip is part of the package being mailed, it is required before printing the label to get the correct weight of the package."

This is a change that was not needed at all. **bleep** Ebay?

PRINTING A PACKING LIST?

I use them on high-value items with text added to the blank area on the lower left side showing the serial numbers of each item in the box. I prefer that the buyer knows that I know exactly what was sent.

Most buyers probably do throw them out, but some things I sell go to buyers who purchase hundreds of like items per month.

PRINTING A PACKING LIST?

I tested this again today.  I could print the packing slip before purchasing a label no problem.

Use the Seller Hub and view all orders, you can hit the drop down and print it, no issues.
