PR representation

I think I have a new slogan for eBay.  I wonder if they will hire me for their PR dept?  😛  It is an honest & welcoming message for new sellers.  "eBay :  we can almost guarantee 1 sale per week!"   🙂  Started selling on here in 2001 & they almost still maintain this kind of assurance.   lol  Good luck to the new & old!   🙂

Re: PR representation

With the way my clothing sales have been going lately on Ebay, I was thinking they could now advertise the site as a "Clothing Display Venue". Let the world see your wardrobe....

Someone posted recently that they were not running a museum - they wanted their items to sell.  Love that concept.  Sums it up perfectly  (sorry cannot remember who posted it, but it resonated with me!)

Re: PR representation

That might have been me - I hustle pretty aggressively and when the DH asked me about it I said "I'm running a store, not a museum!"*  That's become my motto.

@katzrul15

That comment caught my eye, too. It was posted by yuhuza . . .

Ebay extra International fee charged ??

"I honestly don't understand the people who make a big stink about what usually amounts to literally pennies. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm running a store, not a museum. If someone wants to buy something I have listed, great! That's money in my pocket and more space in my storage unit. I'm not shipping internationally myself right now due to the delays caused by COVID, but if someone from another country wants to buy something and have it shipped to a forwarder, hey, more power to them."

Re: PR representation

I think I actually picked it up from @chapeau-noir, now that I think about it! 😁 I do seem to have a vague recollection of reading it before, so it's quite likely.

Well, one of you needs to apply for the PR position before the OP does and work this into an e-Bay slogan.  Kinda sounds like something Meg would have said and/or approved of!  😺

Re: PR representation

No business at all can guarantee a seller any amount of sales a week, not even one. It is up tot the SELLER to get items sold. To do so takes some research on demand of an item and the price in which buyers are willing to pay. I suppose if you sold $1 bills for 50 cents each you could possibly come up with that slogan.

Re: PR representation

The OP  did not  say they can guarantee 1 sale per week.         ....   they  said "we can almost guarantee 1 sale per week.

Re: PR representation

Good morning.  Thanks for asking.  It was incredibly slow.  Did not even make $60.  Which puts me in the negative after rent.  I wish we would close on holidays.  Boxing Day was the same.  They don't care if we get business.  They just want the rent.  They only close on Christmas Day.  Thanks, also, @inhawaii    🙂

Re: PR representation

We pay for a platform & a service with eBay.  Part of their service is to assist in sales; such as presentation on the platform.  Therefore, they are supposed to be aid in sales; not be a hindrance.  🙂
