Does Ebay have a time frame where they are going to lift their ban on selling ppe hand sanitizer and other things ? IT has been more than 3 months now and you are not allowed to sell multiple items on ebay  still and as far as i know there is no end in site for ebay as they have never set a time frame . Has anyone heard anything offical ?

The unofficial, but should be, stance will be 6 mos + after you never hear of CV19. At this time, they will not even contemplate a reversal of the ban, and many states that opened up early, FL, TX etc. are experiencing resurgences....

My guess Ebay plans to end the ban after the coronavirus completely ends. At that point those sellers will be stuck with the thousands of masks, sanitizers and such that they planned on gouging on because there will be no more demand from scared people.

Gouging?

I think sir that you're misinformed.

Is it go price gouging to sell ineffective means a viral contaminant prevention for a market price or is it price gouging to sell a near ineffective means of virus protection bc of a blanket ban on the former?

To suggest that it is not price gouging and immoral to sell homemade masks too vulnerable people that may die if they catch the virus rather than a suitable n95 or p100 mask at say 400% there price is duplistic.

I've given out about 2 dozen masks to family and friends just one each... They sit on the dash a few hours after use and are completely sanitized by the next use.  After three months of using the same 3m  p100 mask with face seal I removed the rubber respirator seal and it was as effective and stretchy as it was three months ago even after sitting in the sun for hundreds of hours.

Even at $20 this premium disposable p100 mask would be well worth the price...bc it is bloody effective!

Don't be a dolt stop watching the news brother 🤷‍♀️

There are still hospitals in my State that don’t have enough PPE for the medical staff. With the HUGE growth in cases in states like Texas I suspect it is only a matter of time before they start to run low. Many of these states were led to believe Covid was only a coastal problem and therefore may be unprepared.

When there is something official, it will be posted on the official announcement page - just like the announcement of the ban was.

I don't understand the point of banning the sale of these PPE products. Some states are reopened, others are attempting to do the same, and COVID-19 isn't going away for a long time. If people want easy access to purchase PPE gear for their own safety, then online platforms such as eBay should be allowing the sale of these goods.

Yes indeed the ban is very confusing.

What happens locally are hoarders that instantly buy 1000 bottles of rubbing alcohol the second it hits the shelf because they know someone that works at the store.  So normal people get screwed because there is none left. I haven't seen a bottle in stores for months. But the clerk said he's been making money tipping people when the shipments come in.

However eBay is like the legal black market. Which is good because it gives people a chance to find needed items.  The ban hurts people in need.

And there's a price gouging complaint form on every listing,  so no replies saying but they will sell the alcohol at 200 quid a bottle, because anyone could just report them.

Lift the ban please.

I asked that very questions late last week and the answer I got are there are no updates to the March 5th announcement yet.  Likely because we are on the rise nationwide for the virus.  We are by no means even close to be out of the woods on this.

Can someone please explain to me why some sellers can sell PPE and others sellers can not? What I notice with the vast majority of sellers who do sell, they do so illegally. For example, I notice fake N95 masks, easy to spot. The illegal use of adding an FDA logo to the listing. Why does eBay allow illegal products and bad sellers and people like me with valid product not allowed to sell. I emailed eBay 6 times and get no response.

I don't know what Ebay's process was in determining which sellers would be approved to sell PPEs.  That you would have to ask Ebay.  Their site, their rules.  For now you can't sell them here unless Ebay approves you to do so.  No matter how upset you get, it just isn't going to happen at this time.  So you energy would be better served finding a different outlet in which you can sell them.  You may want to check with your local First Responders and health clinics.  They may want to buy them at a reasonable price.
