Every day I receive personal emails from Ebay about lowering my prices. I also get emails about items that I have watchers on and they want me to lower my prices. I am currently running a 10% off sale and I still receive these messages. How does Ebay expect me to pay for my store subscription which they just increased the price, if I keep lowering my prices. How about Ebay spend some of their money and run advertisements on television. I can not begin to tell you how many times, I talk to someone about Ebay and they have no idea what Ebay is. They recently spent money on changing the selling summary page and software specialists are not cheap. Ebay you want us to give up our little profits, why don't you give up some of yours to better market the website.

They have been running tv ads at various times since before Xmas. They have also run $ off promos for a couple of months.
It doesn't hurt any of us, in my opinion, to check to be sure that prices haven't dropped (or gone higher) since we priced items.......
And it's easy just to ignore the email (as I ignore the ones from the bank/elec co, etc)........that I don't want to fool with......

I have been selling on Ebay for 17 years. I have only saw a handful of t.v. advertisements and they are 30 second blirps. As far as the pricing, I list my items so that I can make at least a $5.00 profit after my expense of purchasing the item, my shipping supplies and my exorberant fees. If I lower my price just because someone else is giving their items away for practically nothing, I will never make any money. I do not ignore my personal emails, no matter who they are from. I rely on my sales to help pay my bills and would just like to see Ebay spend more time marketing the website than sending upwards to 10 emails a day to me. Agree to Disagree

I read the CEO statement that was put out not too long ago. It appears eBay is trying to reinvent itself but doesn't have a clue how to do so. It just invested heavily into India again trying to get the export market again.
What they fail or refuse to understand is it is actually hurting there market in the States. My belief is that buyers are either looking for a good deal or an unusual or rare item that they cannot source locally or at a reasonable price locally. If you, eBay, keep flooding the market with cheap Chinese knockoffs your days are numbered.

Exactly! they need to go back to being something the other site is not... unusual items, stuff you cant find on every corner. AND ebay needs to start kicking off overseas sellers who are scammers.
