Hi everyone. Quick question. I sell here not for business, just kids clothes and items around the house. I have my shipping set to the option that I ONLY ship in the US. But I just got an offer from someone and the location being shipped to is the UK. How is this possible? There’s no way I can ship there and make a profit as I include shipping so I have no accepted the offer, but just curious what’s going on.

They may have a US shipping address - a reshipper or a relative that sends things to them - or they could be buying for a friend or relative in the US as a gift. There's no way to know until they pay.
That said, you are always free to decline the offer.

Seller beware. If you accept the overseas buyer offer you are on the hook to ship to them. Even if they pay the shipping if they request a return they can wait out the clock and you dont have a way to send them a return label (which you might have to pay for if they INAD) other than giving them money in paypal to buy one which they may or may not do(!) so its a problem with the address in my opinion. You could be getting a legit sale or you could be getting scammed. Is it an expensive item? Take that into consideration if you can afford potential loss make the sale.

Beware. I now only ship international thru the Global Shipping Program. I am at least covered then and only have to ship to Kentucky. Then it goes to whatever country it is going to. I have had them actually purchase items outside of the shipping program and ask me to ship the item. They get upset when I tell them that they need to buy the item thru the Shipping Program. I don't mind sending an item to Kentucky on my dime but I am not going to send something to England on my dime. I would decline the offer. But you might want to look into the Global Shipping Program. Sometimes it is kinda cool to hear from people around the world. Good Luck.

I also ship only to US.
When I receive an international offer I reply that I don't ship internationally at this time.
If they come back saying they have a US address then I accept it.
If you have your preferences set to "ships only to US" and an international buyer buys & pays (for some reason) you can cancel the transaction--your choice is the buyer lives in a country I don't ship to. Anyway that used to be a choice I don't know if it is now.

Actually An international buyer can not buy & pay unless they have a US address. If they don’t have a US address then they can’t pay because the seller hasn’t specified international shipping.

What happens is the overseas person emails the seller and asks them to change the setting on the item to accept international payments. If someone asks you to do that they could be a scammer or legit.

I’m not sure if they do. The “shipping address” says UK.

Thank you everyone! I feel this is maybe not a scammer but someone who is a bit of an opportunist, hoping I’ll accept the offer and they will basically get an item for free as the item is only listed for $13 and they offered $11. I laughed when i first saw it. Definitely declining. I was unaware that people overseas could still put in offers when you’ve chosen to not ship there.
