Overseas local pick-up problems

I am listing some items for sale that were donated to our charity.  Mu ebay sign up and my location is in the U.S..   the items for sale with local pick-up only (they are very heavy) are located in Canada.  I made the listing but when my friend did a test bid on it he gets an error message it cannot be delivered outside of USA.  Can I list something for local pick-up in Canada?  Is that a no-go? Or is it something I am not doing correctly?

Because you are registered in the U.S, you cant list your items to be picked up in another country.

I think that if you are showing local pick up only it will automatically default to the country of the site that you listing on even if the item location is in another country.  If you want to list local pick up in Canada you can list on the .ca site using the same eBay ID you use here.  You would have to list in Canadian dollars but the money would be converted to $US dollars before it goes onto your bank account.  There is a 3% conversion fee.

I’m registered in Canada but if I did a local pick up listing on .com, I’m sure that it would show that option to buyers in the US, not Canada.
