I charge an arm and a leg for Express Mail as one of my options for shipping. It's clearly shown in the listing's shipping section.

Yet I sometimes get messages from buyers asking me if I will overnight via Express Mail and how much would it be. Sometimes it takes a day of back and forth messages. By then they might as well have purchased opting for the much cheaper Priority Mail immediately in lieu of ever sending me any messages to begin with thus saving at least a day.

Buyers asking about Express Mail options or prices aren't really serious about opting for that service are they?

I also have the option and rarely get an inquiry about upgrading to overnight delivery. Some buyers do not realize what shipping costs are and how much it has increased over the 1-2 years. Sometimes if the sale warrants it, I will ship at that level at no extra charge, but it would have to be for at least a $1,000 item. I use to ship Express a lot but I find most of the time today it costs around $50. I just can't eat that kind of increase over Priority, which is bad enough.

I would guess some buyers just don't read your shipping options and are the younger or older crowd - teens to over 60. Possibly add a reminder in your descriptions of the shipping options and where to pick one.  It's at least a try to cut down on your communications and delays.  Good luck.

The thing with Priority Mail is that it USUALLY takes 2-3 days. Usually. Sometimes it can take considerably longer than that. Someone who wants an item by a specific date (say, for a birthday or a graduation or what have you) would in fact be better off opting for Express Mail just because it DOES in fact have a specific delivery date guarantee and there's much less of a chance of it taking a sightseeing tour across the US by mistake.

I can never understand why a buyer thinks their lack of planning becomes the seller's emergency LOL
