Good Morning, my Top Rated seller status is in jeopardy due to an "out of stock" defect. Last October a buyer asked me to create some gift tags for her, which I did, and listed them as a Private Listing. A different buyer bought the listing. I explained the listing was meant for a Private buyer and the transaction would need to be cancelled. By mistake I chose "out of stock" as the reason for canceling. I ended up making another set of tags so both buyers got what they wanted and were happy. My handcrafts are mostly one of a kind so I've never run into anything like this before. How can I get rid of the "out of stock" defect on my account? Thank you!

Thank you for your advice. The gal on Facebook was thorough, helpful and polite. She seemed knowledgeable so it's my understanding my seller status won't be affected by the defect. FYI, she did not want my user ID and other personal information in my initial message. She provided me with a link which redirected my message and it was then I was told to provide more information.

You should be safe to get two. And depending on how much you sell, it will fall off in 3 months or a year.
Although this is probably a rare occurrence. It might be worth handling listings meant for specific people different in the future though. Perhaps giving it an increased handling time even if should normally go out within a day or two. That way if someone accidentally buys it. You can just move the quantity back to one and work on the accidental buyers tags.

If I have something for a certain buyer, we agree on a price. I then list with price agree upon + $100 but with a make an offer availble. The buyer than offers the agreed-upon price and I accept.
Though you ended up with 2 sales your way--just the problem of choosing the wrong reason--which I'm sure you won't do again
