They bought 5/4, got 5/9 - no contact, no ebay case, just straight to 'payment institution credit card charge back'
OK just want to give the money back - if we "Accept and agree to have the dispute amount deducted from my funds" is it just the price and shipping or any added fees

They do not charge the $20 if you do not dispute the chargeback.

@steve_stuff
What was the reason for the chargeback? If you "accept", the buyer is refunded the total amount they paid, and, of course, don't have to return the product.

If you accept the dispute I believe that your fees are credited as well.

'What was the reason for the chargeback'
First complaint was about the box we used. They thought we sent them stuffing.
2nd was it smelled like smoke. No ones smokes.
Have already refunded - Not a big deal - Paid fifty cents for the shirt six years ago, has sat in a sealed bag ever since.

I would refund and be done.
Recently, I provided a discount on a purchase, refunding approximately 20% after the payment was completed. The eBay fees for that 20% were fully refunded.

Not uncommon for buyers to bypass the eBay claims process since the chargeback provides the path of least resistance and in most cases the buyer does not have to worry about returning the item. If this was the $10 shirt and you had challenged, what I am assuming was/is a NAD chargeback, you most likely would have lost the challenge and then been hit with a $20 processing fee from the CC company.
Hardly worth it just make sure you add the buyer to your BBL.

Sometimes the carriers smoke in their trucks. UPS is the worst. They're not supposed to, but they do it anyway. Sorry for your situation.

You would be required to give the customer a full refund (purchase + shipping). If you dispute this "chargeback" you would have to pay a $20 fee.

Shirt has been inside a plastic bag since it was bought six years ago. It's a shirt about fishing, if it smelled of anything it was fish.
Refunded and now just waiting for their bank to take the money.

The buyer would have charged back their entire $17.70 payment of $10 + $6.70 shipping + e.g. $1 sales tax.
And @steve_stuff the "dispute amount" is that entire payment, which you agreed to be deducted.
So can you update, was $17.70 deducted -- which is more than you received?

Good thing it was a 10 dollar shirt and not a 1000.00 dollar watch. STILL, W-R-O-N-G, for any customer whether a 10 dollar shirt or a 1 thousand dollar watch to do any of this. Pathetic Credit Card companies are at fault for this. You seek your refund through the merchant.

Shirt $10.00
Shipping $7.00
And for whatever reason, no tax [They are in NJ]

"... not a 1000.00 dollar watch"
Would never list anything that might sell for anywhere near that amount. That's what pawn shops, swap meets and our real store is for.

They have a NJ sales tax exemption certificate on file at eBay, which applies regardless it's a personal or it's a business purchase.
So that $17.00 total ($10 shirt + $7 shipping) was deducted @steve_stuff even though you got less than that in your payout for this sale -- you paid back more than you made?
