Does anyone Selling on e-Bay offer Order discounts for Veterans, etc?
We received an email today and it is a Corporate type retailer that also sells on here and they offer additional for Veterans, etc.
Adidas: 20% off at factory outlets and 30% off online with online verification for their Heroes get Rewarded Program.
I get this is directed towards tomorrow, etc. If we did something like this with our Coupons, How would you verify someone qualified? Adidas has some sort of online verification deal - with an e-bay coupon, not going to be possible. But it would be nice to give a discount to those serving. Would I just ask them to email us thru e-Bay for the discount?
Good idea? Bad idea? Anyone else doing something like this or offering discounts to Seniors, other groups, etc?

good idea...for selling other then ebay... you can't prove anything, while the gesture is nice and is common practice in things like B&M stores for instance, I don't see this working well on ebay i.e. someone mails you says they are veteran, what are going to say? "Thanks for your service, please send image of your military ID?" ...like getting a compliment and giving an insult in one sentence... don't see that turning out so well.

We enclose a coupon for the potential next order with every item shipped (either site).
I think I will offer an additional 10% off the coupon for Veterans and just take their word for it. There are so many scams out there and I am sure I get scammed in other ways without realizing it. The onus would be on the Buyer to be truthful and I think I would prefer to just give them the benefit of the doubt.
Discount would apply to the "next" order with us (minus shipping/tax), so who knows....might work, might not.
I need to get my new coupons for the holidays created soon anyway and am playing around with one now on Vista Print to go on my order inserts, so why not? Worse that happens is that I get taken advantage of for an additional 10% off an order of $100 or more, with $50 coupon max. Would prefer it benefit a military family, but repeat sales are the best and I used to have a lot more on here.

...if buyers can message a copy of their DD-214 form (discharge order)...that's how to prove a Veteran...

...only those whom retired from service will permanently obtain a military ID...but another with only service times won't be able to show that ID...that's how I replied to Katz about discharge form DD-214...

I offer "weird" discounts.
I recently had a item that hit 1,000 sales. I've never sold 1,000 of ANY one item before. So the 1,000th order was free. The customer was so happy!
I'm approaching my 3,000 feedback. I'm thinking about doing something special for my 3,000 feedback customer.

I'd like to do something for our vets but not sure how I'd actually know - the local Goodwills here senior and vets day is the first Wednesday of ever month, but for vets you need an ID. I do like to refund shipping for our serving military/their families if I get an FPO/APO order.

I'm with ya!
I love my vets!
At my full time job i'm sometimes asked "do you offer a military discount?"
I answer "No, but i'm giving you one anyways." 😃

No one would be asking for the veteran's SS number.
