We are selling in 2 completely different categories and we are to the point that we want to open a second selling account to seperate the products. I know you can do and I have read all the help pages but I also see people posting in here frequently about opening a second account and the getting permenately restricted. Is there any advice as to how exactly I should go about this.
As far as I know it goes like this;
- use a new email address
-same personal info, biz bank account, tax id number, shipping address... Both accounts should match.
-make sure I answer any emails and get verified.
Is there more?
Also I plan to take half my inventory from this account and transfer it to the second account. And advice on the best, easiest way to do this?
Just want to make sure I am doing everything right. Thanks in advance.

I have 6 selling accounts and I did exactly what your did. But that was well over a year ago so things may have changed.
As for moving inventory - Turbo Lister used to let you do this in seconds. I hope someone else comes along and tells us there is an easy way to do it.

I have three accounts, and besides different email addresses, I had to have three different checking accounts.
As for moving inventory, from one account, to another, I'm not aware of a way to do it. Hope someone comes along with a way to do it. I have wanted to do that myself.

There are 3rd party listing tools that will help you move inventory from one ID to a second one, depending on how many IDs you are using.
I currently use Sixbit Software / Home and Hobby which allows for 2 user IDs. When I had two active IDs I could easily switch inventory between them. Its been a while, but I think once the IDs are created on eBay and in the software, it's only a matter of changing 2 or 3 fields in the item record to move inventory from one ID to another. The other thing I like is the fact that their support staff are located in the US, speak English as first language and some are even sellers themselves. They have different support levels, the basic is support by email and that had worked well for me. (By the way, the only thing I get for recommending them is the satisfaction of sharing knowledge to make someone else's job easier). First month trial is free.

Ok so another quick question. The items im wanting to move make up over half the items in my current store. I want to keep Our best selling products in this store because most of my feedback is for those items and I just generally sell a lot more this way. When I list clothing the clothing sells but its lower value and I sell less of my other products. Like they divide the traffic between the two categories. Which is why I want another store. If I open a second account and move all the clothing and shoes and it takes out over half my inventory. Will my sales in my main store decline? Because I have a lot less listings?

Hello, unfortunately, there is not an easy way to transfer the listings yet, maybe with the import-export tool that ebay provides but I personally have not used it. What I would do in your position is to make two main categories in the same ebay store and ebay account. For example, if you sell electronics & collectibles you can make one parent category for connectors and one for collectibles and build the subcategories. For me it was too complex to maintain a lot of ebay accounts so i have combined everything to one store. In my opinion, ebay is more a search engine than an eshop and most of your purchases will come from searching and not by browsing your store.

If you use a brand new account you'll start off with zero feedback. If you have a separate buyer account with some feedback you may want to use that one instead.
As a new selling account you will be hit with holds and selling limits. I used to have three selling accounts, now I have two and am slowly moving everything from it to this one. Frankly it's a hassle (at least for me) to deal with multiple accounts. At this stage of the game I only want to deal with one, it just makes things easier for me.

HI! Years ago I tried the same thing. Ebay told me it is better not to do it that way, because we should vary our items in all accounts. Unless I was just selling 2 types of items.

I have two accounts. Two different emails but the same banking account. I like having two and the second one I did have to start off with holds for awhile, but I proved myself worthy enough for eBay. I did not transfer anything as I have enough to sell for multiple accounts, however I find two is enough for me.

Wonderlister is another, and it's more like TL was. When I was selling, I just got the basic version, which I believe is 2 users also, 5 bucks a month, billed quarterly.
Jus so nice to have never had to list anything thru the ever-changing ebay listing pages.
