tyler@ebay I read your reply to @goodluckselling 's post on yesterday's weekly chat about the One time payment option. I am not sure of the path goodluck used to base their question on but I figured it would be the same choice going through the Summary page and the Make a one time payment option there. So I went to my Summary page and clicked the one time payment option and the payment screen came up ... based on your Weekly Chat post I thought if I clicked the Make a one time payment option under the total the next screen would give me the option to change the amount shown ... but it didn't, it processed the entire amount owed on the monthly invoice plus the amount yet to be invoiced.
Your post should have explained how each path to the one time payment function worked because it processed the total amount lock stock and barrel. Further, the new One time payment option screens, regardless of path, should all have clear explanations of how to change the amount shown, doing this kind of thing without notification or full explanation is deceptive to say the least ... I am not impressed, sorry but I'm not.

They also changed the interface with PayPal so you can no longer select
your funding source like you used to be able to do. If you click the edit link
it just takes you back to the same screen. So its pay the full amount and
have no clue what funding source Pay Pal used.

I don`t know if this helps but when I paid mine I figured out that the amount can be altered to anything that suits you at the blue line (see highlighted) .

I rolled my cursor over that entire area and the only thing that was live was the blue (now grayed out) Make a onetime payment button. Based on the Weekly Chat post I "thought" once I clicked that there would be yet another window that would allow me to make a change ... there wasn't.

I just made a payment a few minutes ago. What I did was highlight (right click & drag) across the "payment amount" , and then I typed in what I wanted to pay while it was highlighted. I did this before choosing a payment method. You can see in the screenshot the difference in the amount that will be paid as opposed to what ebay was billing. I agree also...this should have been announced/ explained prior to changing.

@hillbillymedia My sincere thanks ... that's sort of the the point to this thread ... NOTHING was explained. They can send those silly weekly "Items are in carts now make the sale" messages like clockwork every Sunday night but when it comes to informing members of significant changes like this they fall well short of the mark ... actually, they can't even see the mark.
Gee, I wonder if I call and complain if they'll give me my $ 122.00 over payment back??????

It is very confusing to say the least. But I guess this is the new way, 1 step forward and 3 steps backwards.
There are so many changes that I have a hard time keeping up. I get most of my info and work arounds here on the boards, I feel especially bad for any newbie sellers...what a mine field!

I agree. It`s ridiculous and I never can fathom a reason for these changes when things were working perfectly before.
"Gee, I wonder if I call and complain if they'll give me my $ 122.00 over payment back??????"
I don`t think they will. It`s been years ago but I entered $400 instead of $40 and paid. I called and they told me no, can`t refund. I`m glad I really didn`t need that money or I`d have been in a real pickle.

I also rolled my cursor over the area as you described with no results and that is why I asked the question. eBay staff said to click near the total which I did and was able to back out the amount showing and input the amount due and then click the "make a one time payment".
eBay staff said they realize now that it is not apparent sellers can do that and they have asked for an improvement in this area.
Good Luck Selling!

I guess it's easy peasy for the programmer who wrote the code, but what about us mere mortals? don't they ever test anything to see how it works in real life not theory?
Thanks Good Luck Selling for asking the question and helping us out. I do not know where I would be with out the board members help.....I guess I would still be hovering over the one time payment looking for the added page!

I too appreciate you asking the question on the Weekly Chat ... and yes, I read their reply to your post and that they will be trying to get some improvements made. But I wasn't sure if you were accessing through the eBay message with the Invoice download or through the Summary page like I did ... that's why I posted knowing that some formats and paths may vary ...

I always go through the seller account tab (shortcuts section) on the seller hub overview page.

Hi @mr_lincoln - sorry to hear that my reply to @goodluckselling was confusing!
I didn't have screenshots to provide, so my intention was to make it as clear as possible by stating that you are still able to make partial payments by clicking beside the "payment amount".
I appreciate that screenshots, it will make it simpler for the next person who has questions. 🙂
As to the manner and form of this roll-out, we've shared that feedback with the team involved. Thanks!

The eBay CEO probably tested it and realized it worked "just as planned" to intentionally make it difficult to figure out ..... another money grab needed to prop up the quarterly numbers, that are on decline due to lost sales.
