So...A 1973 VARGAS GIRL is "whacked" on my account?  Yet you can (literally) type in "Vargas Girl" and find 2200 other "Vargas Girls" (vintage pin-ups) AND (again, literally) another 17+ sellers with the EXACT SAME VARGAS GIRL/SAME PHOTO/SAME POSE/ETC, up there.

And...they whack mine?   Saying it is "too explicit"?

Has Ebay lost its **bleep** mind or what?   (One would think we were listing "Traci Lords Contraband" here, with this incessant overreach and misunderstanding...by their ONN "no help" at their OWN "no help desk".

Today's "stellar Ebay misunderstander of basic policy" was "Luna".  

Constantly "apologizing and understanding for that which SHE 1) does not understand, nor 2) should she apologize for as those "Ebay Sensors are ROBO sensors" anyway.

Thusly...ya get NOWHERE, and a 3-day "restriction" on an account.

Whatever or whomever caused this dumb "policy" of theirs to be written?  Needs taken out to the woodshed and locked IN it.   

Because those of us whom have been around here since "MEG WHITMAN days", know vastly more than these clowns do.

Hmmm, The listing for 1973 Vargas Girl  is still up.  The only issue I see is that you offer media mail for magazines.  That's against USPS regulations.

I don't know if this makes any difference, but the other Vargas girls are in Art: Art Prints. You have yours in Paper: Pinup: Contemporary (1970-Now)

I find it hard to believe that you got a 3-Day restriction for a first offense. Did you  get a written warning for posting it, THEN a 3-Day by reposting it?

If so, you are NOT doing your ebay business any favors by reposting it and literally giving eBay the middle finger. You'll deserve what's coming next. Just saying.

Yeah...ebay isn't fair. I tried to sell some Playboy videos a few years ago. But the sale got zapped by the eBay gods and I was given a written warning not to sell them on the site....even though there were 100s more of the exact same stuff listed.

But they left the PB magazines alone that I had posted at the same time.

Life is so unfair sometimes.

I thought the adult categories all got pulled a couple of years ago. I tried searching for something that would fall under the old adult category, but I could not find anything.

I won't even bother to post here what I was searching for...and getting matches....Ugh.

Well, I'm not sure which world you live in but from what I hear todays' minors are decades ahead of our generation.  The internet ruined one of the greatest mysteries of growing up.  

The Vargas Girl art belongs where ebay says it belongs.  Looks like they go in Collectables... Did you know we can't list Playboy magazines in the adult category anymore?

I think eBay (and some people too) thinks that 'minors' don't have bodies themselves and mirrors.  What is it about Americans that are so dang prudish?  And I'm American but it boggles my mind.

They reinstated it, after admitting their (robot-eyes) "mistake".

IF a customer happens to be "looking for a VARGAS Girl"...then they already-knew the man did vintage nude-pinups.

They stated it is OK to either go in "Contemporary Pin-up" OR "Art-Prints" category.

The entire issue stems from the fact that their own help does not:

1) know WHAT it is they are always "apologizing for our inconvenience for"

2) even what a VARGAS Girl is.

The man didn't exactly "draw Presidents".  Therefore, their rule is ridiculously-written, and is NOT either "obscene" nor "pornographic" in any way.

So...it's a nude.  So what?   It is totally valid, if this were "Swedish Hardcore" or "Underground" material.   On THAT I can agree.  Certainly...it should be in its own category, and away from the wrong eyes...but not "banned entirely" as there is a market for anything that is LEGAL.   Common sense should be dictating here.  Not "robot eyes" looking for some "naked breast" (to which...you can find a MILLION listings of some "nude item" that "exposes a breast" on it.  

There was a time, where "Pre-1981 Playboy" was standard for simply being "in the magazine category" and we had to put "post-1982" in the adult section.  

That kind of policy makes a lot more sense than this gobbledegook that they printed as a "rule".

Much akin to government, and how IT "writes laws"...they DON'T understand their own laws and RARELY (if ever) do they ever follow them.

SIMPLICITY of SITE and QUALITY of SELLER will and should always rule the day.

Ebay makes a MINT off of us.   Whether you sell a "Playboy" or a "Knitting Needle" or "A car part" or a "baseball card"...it doesn't matter. 

Sellers of 20 years know what they are doing.

Sadly?  Ebay "representatives" don't

Not to mention that you can go to the OPs listing - and then scroll down the listing to find a ton more Vargas listings in the Ebay Sponsored listings section.

Yah...that is where some of my searches went to. Yah...some amazing things in there....and eBay got their panties all bunched up over a nude breast...

I agree with someone previously...it was probably a competitor that reported it. I'm guessing that is what happened to my Playboy videos I had posted (got pulled) and some XP restore disks I tried to sell (got pulled). Somebody probably didn't like my price or something stupid. In both cases there were 100s of the same item on site.

When covid first hit and stupid sellers were posting toilet paper and disinfectant at ridiculous prices, I was logging in every morning and reporting those sales to the eBay gods. The first couple of days the sales got pulled within the hour but then eBay must have decided coffee breaks were more important and quit pulling my reports. I was on the message boards complaining about this and posted that I was going to start reporting these sales to each individual states attorneys.  *I* got warned for making threats. Well...to be fair it wasn't a threat....Ebay had time to spy on me in the message boards making "threats" but they can't be bothered pulling extortion sales. Interesting.

After that I just went about my business and gave up my pricing police hobby.
