A buyer contacted me today regarding a textbook for English grammar usage. He wanted to verify that it had the answer key and CD's (he had purchased one on Amazon and it arrived without both). I explained it did have the answer key and although the CD's were sealed and I could only see one, I could feel that that there were two inside the sleeve. A bit later he emails to ask me to double check that the CD's are both included as English is his second language.
While this was happening, I received a notice that the book had been purchased by another buyer. When verifying with Paypal, I see a note that the buyer is purchasing it as a surprise birthday gift for his Italian friend (the original inquiry).
Replied to actual buyer that I was relieved as I felt terrible responding that it had just sold, then received a response a short time later that he had just told him it was sold and disappointed.
Such a nice thing, made my day. (of course if it turns out to be some sort elaborate scam I'll be PO'd, but I'm staying optimistic for the time being)
