I was on fire at the beginning of the month. For about five days I sold more than I had in the three previous weeks combined. Then the switch flipped and I have been trickling now for about three weeks. I have started two sales, I have reduced prices, I have sold similar. I took down 100 of my oldest items that didn't have a sale. I am using promoted listings.
I feel like that week I was doing well is a week the site wasn't being "updated" and the trickle comes because they are using limited resources for something else. I don't think there is anything I can do to change it.
The search is still garbage. Google can find the items ebay cant. So maybe thats it. The only searches my items are found in are Google searches and those are the only customers I get while they are screwing around with the site.
I didn't sell anything all day yesterday up until about 8EST then I sold five items inside of an hour. Like they turned it back on before they went home for the day. Hopefully they turn it back for a whole week again soon but I will probably have to wait until the beginning of next month. Its almost as if they are giving us a week of working search to make sure we can pay our store fees before they go back to making asinine changes to fix things that are not broken.
Is this the new normal? One might think they are using the slow summer to get everything updated and ready to go for fourth quarter. Last fourth quarter was awful and there was no less site update slowdowns then there is right now and the fourth quarter before that wasn't much better.
I really wish we could get a disgruntled coder to tell us what is really going to on.
I figure if Google is the only way anyone can find my items I will start a Shopify store and cut ebay out. Since ebay isn't going to make the search work for ME then I will make a search work for me. I am almost ready to open it. Hopefully it can pick up some of the miles of ebay slack.

Tell us what you cannot find that you think Ebay is hiding. We will search for you to see if it is there.

The OP did not use the word 'hiding.' They were merely stating a FACT that you can find items easier by using Google over locating using eBay search. SEVERAL times I check eBay for similar items to see what they are selling for or if anything is currently listed. When I see nothing, I go to Google and, what do you know, I find 10 of them that are listed on eBay & some that sold! Stop with the eBay cheerleading & going on about the hoops people have to jump through to find EXACTLY what they are looking for. Doesn't anything sink in with you? 😛

That guy just trolled my own thread, shameful behavior.

@therapy_dragon I gave you the reason why your listing got pulled. Yours may not have had a nude picture on it but there are many that do so ebay decided it does not want those things listed on their site. Sorry you are not happy with Ebay's decision but it is their playground and their rules.

Yep, the same here. That old switch has turned back OFF for me.

I get it all of the time from this broken record!

Me too, day 4 no sales...

Yes, it appears ebay has turned off your switch.
There has been a lot of that going around lately.
I hope they turn it back on for you soon.

In June, I had 12 sales. 37 in July. I have not hit double figures in August yet. Not a natural flow of sales at all!

Sorry, but there is no such thing as a "natural" flow of sales on eBay. We'd like to think there is, but to do so is nonsense. Sales come, sales go. There is no schedule.

"Sales come. Sales go." is a natural flow. Not - sales go go go go go go go; sales come; sales go go go go go go go go go go; sales come; sales go go go...............

Going on 9 days without a sale. There is something defiantly wrong with this site. Seems lately that the only time we have sales are when it is close to paying our monthly fee for having a store.

Exactly. At my B&M job we can have a $12,000 day followed by a $3,000 day. There's no rhyme or reason to it, it all just depends on how many people come in that day and what they're buying. Some days we'll be completely dead for a couple of hours straight and then have a rush of people all coming in at the same time.
Exactly the same sort of thing that people complain about as being "unnatural" on eBay, interestingly enough.
