I'm leaving on vacation and will put my stores on time out and 10 day handling late on the 31st

I message my buyer that I don't mean to be a pest,   But If I can't ship his stamps Friday

AM  April 1st they will sit till probably the 8th

While My wife and I toodle off on Vacation the buyer pays me when I'm 500 miles up the road.

Come home,    eBay has given me a defect for late shipping.

Hindsight is 20/20, but seems like an experienced seller would foresee such an event, and unless "at sea", or "in isolation" would have been able to pack a small item, and ship well on vacay.

Either way, hope that defect does not cause serious harm to your selling account.

Sorry but we all must plan for the unexpected. When I leave out of town, I place my store on time away a week prior to avoid issues. Literally anything can come up with any transaction. Making a sale that last minute, buyer could have opened an INR that you wouldn't be able to respond to and have it closed by the time you returned home. That's like leaving at the last possible minute for your work commute than arriving late because of traffic and complaining about it. Sorry but we all must take into account such possibilities. Next time you will stop your sales earlier to avoid this. Best of luck to you....

I don't see it as another way to get a shipping metric ding, it is pretty much the way.   If you don't upload the tracking on time and it is delivered past the delivery estimate, then ding ding ding.   One ding won't hurt you unless it joined forces with several others.
