How did I get an offer on an item that I have not checked the  offers check box in the ad?

Ebay killed the offer because bids were made,  but the message looked like an offer would.   I can't figure out how it even happened.

Because you either used sell similar from a previous listing or ebay included it for you when you listed. You do have severqal listings with Best Offer. It is written at the bottom of the listing form
