Offers not being paid

Lately I have received and accepted offers for a couple of items.....but no payment from buyer forthcoming even after repeated requests.

Is this a common issue with offers?  Just wondering.

(I know I can open a ticket with eBay, it's just such a bother)

Offers not being paid

Some buyers really don't understand that an accepted offer is a commitment to purchase.  Go ahead and file the unpaid item claims.

Thanks, wondering if that was perhaps the issue.

Ebay has a unique best offer system. In the very rare instance when I do not want the item after offering, I message to cancel. However, it is not intuitively obvious how to do this on the app. When I sell, I just cancel promptly when asked. If not file the annoying claims. Moving on. People flake, better before than after!

This just happened to me.  I accepted an offer on a vehicle I was selling and then when I contact buyer to make arrangements for payment they tell me they changed their mind.  Also, about a month ago someone clicks the buy now and they tell me they clicked it by mistake.  I know how frustrating it is because you remove the item for sale and it takes a couple of days to file a resolution with eBay.

Did you know that motor vehicle sales are a somewhat unique category? Either party is allowed to walk away, no harm, no foul.

For items with a relatively large population some buyers will send offers to multiple sellers.... they will pay for the best/first offer they get..... this is more common in some categories then others.... and may not apply to your situation but it is a possibility.

If it has been 48 hours since you accepted the offer, file a UID.  If they pay, ship and thank them for their business.  If they still haven't paid within 96 hours of filing the UID, close it giving them a strike and you are free to re-list the item.  Don't forget to put them on your BBL.
