The times In New York City are different now, not business as usual...
I just was amazed at my thought process when I received a low offer.
Obviously never considered that before.
Making a low sale vrs. Dying.
Have not been outside in 6 days now. Staying inside.

I'm just chugging to the post office twice a week instead of every day - wear a mask when I go and wash my hands when I get back. We have irregular pickup times, too, but mostly because the route is long - our letter carriers are good - so it doesn't work to set the items out on the stoop.

I tried the USPS pickup for the first time on Monday. Even spoke with the mail carrier when he picked up the package and was assured all pickups get scanned in when the route is completed.
Well, it is now Friday, the package was due to be delivered by today and it has no scans at all. I am disappointed. I am sending a replacement to the buyer tomorrow.

My post office is 3 blocks away but my regular mailman retired 3 months ago and we still don't have a regular one yet. Constantly have new people. They keep delivering to the wrong address, not showing up to get packages, delivering instead of 11am-12 noon like usual, its been almost 6pm some days. So I print my labels and still hand deliver myself since I can't trust my pick ups unfortunately otherwise I would be using it even though post office so close to me. Sucks.
If you use the schedule a pickup on the USPS website and they do not show to pickup your items call and speak to the Carrier Supervisor about it. Each carrier that has a pickup requested on their route are given printouts of the scheduled pickups and are supposed to scan them as completed when the packages are picked up. If your local PO is to small to have a Carrier Supervisor then speak to the Postmaster about the situation.
If you have given the proper personnel the heads up that things are not happening as they are supposed to on your pickups go back to the USPS website and file a complaint about it. The person in charge of responding to those complaints will then have 48 hours to come up with a solution that is also satisfactory to you. If they do not the district office will quickly get involved and force a solution on them they may not like but will take care of your problems.
I had that problem for awhile and got to know the Carrier Supervisor and the Postmaster very well so when they converted my route into a training route for new employees and i started having problems, they actually assigned my old carrier the task of stopping by each time I had shipments going out. I am not sure what he received for going out of his way to take care of things but he was more than happy to take care of the issue and i made sure to reward him at Christmas, as well as the Carrier Supervisor and the Postmaster. Although he retired a little over a year ago, the carrier with the route next to mine always comes over and gets my packages and if his substitute does not pick things up on his day off all I have to do is call the local PO as late as 6 pm and they will make sure that somebody not only comes by and picks up my packages but will also drive them the the sorting hub a LAX to make sure they get scanned in there the same day. I was also given the number that is always answered if anybody is still there as they stop answering the regular line at 5 pm.
Nobody at the local PO likes to have one of those complaints filed on them as you are asked for the specific employees name if it is one person and that complaint goes into their permanent employee file and can cause them to miss out on promotions down the road. I know that things are slightly different during these trying times I have found that most Postmasters will go out of their way to make sure that their customers are happy when they are following USPS policies.

Contact your local PO and speak to either the Postmaster or the Carrier Supervisor and have them look up the item tracking number and see what it shows. They actually do have access to more information than we do and many times can tell you what is happening. But I have found out that scans are not necessarily happening like clockwork now with this Covid-19 mandates in place. Also mail is not moving as fast as USPS depends on the UPS, FED -EX and even commercial airlines to move their mail cross country and I am sure that the commercial airline business does not have a lot of flights happening right now.

That’s rough, I have a great postman — only one time a package wasn’t picked up. I gave him $50 for Christmas.
