I listed an item as Buy it Now only less than 24 hours ago. I currently have 3 watchers on it. Someone offered me less than 50%. (which I would have countered) I declined the offer telling the buyer I wasn't taking any offers at this time since I had just listed it. How long should a seller wait before considering any offers? Thank you!!!

I did not have it listed with "Best Offer", it was just a random offer on a BIN item.

Sometimes ebay puts 'make offer' on our items, so you have to remove it manually. Personally, I don't do offers- if I wanted 'offers', especially the insane 50%+ offers, I would list on the local sites.

It depends on what the item is, how popular we feel it is, how long it's been up, how much the offer is for and more.
For some items we'll wait a few years before considering offers.

The best solution: Counter the offer for the buyer offering an extra large Pina Colada and home delivery. Wrap the item into gold-embroidered Silk brocade fabric with velvet ribbon. Jump on your meanie (uhmm, the fastest horse you are able to locate. It would help if the horse had wings, think: Pegasus).
Then when the buyer opens the door, carefully leave the package 6 feet away from their door-step while gently humming, "Oh, say what else can I do for you?"
This will ultimately result in a Negative feedback, because you forgot to bring the pot roast!

The morale of the above is: there are buyers who do not deserve us. But the good news is: for every such buyer, there are thousands who do.

When a looker clicks on "Ask seller a question" One of the options is "Make seller an offer"

Depends on the seller.
I don't do offers, if they want the item, they pay my price.

Well, as it turned out the buyer did end up paying the listed price. Guess they were just fishing, but I didn't take the bait lol.

A few years? Better off dumping it and roll the money into a better investment.
