Re: OVER THE TOP EBAY SELLING FEES

Most of us already know that.

That's why we try not to go below standard.

Re: OVER THE TOP EBAY SELLING FEES

It is only an extra 6% on top of the 12.9%  so not 25%.

@nic94950

Pick a sale.

What is the winning bid?

What is the shipping?

International sale?

What was the sales tax?

How much in fees?

What was your payout?

Below standard is eBay's way of giving you the Spanish archer. If you can't fix it quickly, they want you to leave.

Re: OVER THE TOP EBAY SELLING FEES

Were you using reserve prices? That's an unnecessary 7.5% but would be about right for normal fees + below standard ding + reserve fees.

Re: OVER THE TOP EBAY SELLING FEES

12.9% of the total with tax (which is really more like 15% of your actual sale price not counting tax you don't see), plus 30 cents, plus another 1.9% (think that's it now) for selling to an international buyer even though you don't ship internationally, plus another 6%...

  Sounds about right.

Re: OVER THE TOP EBAY SELLING FEES

Perhaps the "above standard" fees will again apply on Aug 1st.

Seems that I have read that is the way it works.

Evaluate on the 20th.

Effective on the 1st of the next month.

It seems apparent that you are one of those people who ask a question but reject any answer if the solution goes against your preconceived notion.

Your response to the very helpful post by janet9988 was completely out of line.

Aside from that, I have to wonder WHY were you below standard? That occurs when you do something wrong, repeatedly. The higher rate is the proverbial “stick” to get you to correct your ways. Try doing that before insulting those who try to help.

Re: OVER THE TOP EBAY SELLING FEES

I'm glad you came to the community for some help.  Everyone here are volunteers, spending their own time here trying to help others.  It is important to remember than and to stay courteous.

First thing, I see you prefer to type in all caps.  In written communications / posts typing in all caps means you are yelling.  I assure you that there is no need to yell at us as we are all here simply trying to assist you with your concerns, nothing more or less.

@janet9988 posted a link to a policy that has been around for awhile.  I'm sorry you were taken off guard about this policy.  Sellers are held responsible to know the rules of selling and this is just one of those rules.

" I WAS BELOW WHAT THEY IS STANDARD", yes Ebay has the right to make those determinations.  They aren't robbing you, there are policies posted that anyone can read if they chose to on the subject.  You simply were not aware of it.  That however doesn't matter as all sellers are responsible for adhering to the rules whether they have taken the time to read them or not.

In an effort to help you more we would need a little more information from you.  Did you become Below Standard to do Defects or dings in the Service Metrics.  If it was Defects, then on your Seller Dashboard you can see exactly what category that got you in trouble.  Late shipments, unresolved claims, etc.  Share with us what category caused your current issue of being Below Standard.  We can then further help you from there.

Re: OVER THE TOP EBAY SELLING FEES

25% is before ad fees roll in — last sale I did ebay took 30%. Basically 25% plus 5% ads and whatever.

No they didn't.
