Odd question. Are you asking because the buyer contacted you and claimed it was a reproduction or did you discover after you sold it that it was a reproduction and the buyer is unaware?

Hi. Well, if you sold it as an authentic or original item, only to be informed that it is a replica, then you send the buyer a prepaid return shipping label, get the item back and promptly give the buyer a full refund. Then hope they don’t leave negative feedback.

Selling an item without being fully informed on its authenticity is a pretty big mistake. However, i wouldn't take just anybody’s word for it. So once you get it back, take it for authentication just in case it is original, and the buyer is mistaken.

Either way, first get the item back, while reassuring your buyer that you will take care of them.

Was it the saxophone? Who says it is a reproduction?

Good to know buyer worked with you on this and you never actually sent it. I am assuming the buyer had paid for the item and does not want the reproduction. If that is the case simply cancel the order using buyer requested.

If it's a "reproduction" you may be able to list it as such but it may also be in a gray area with regards to counterfeit and reproduction eBay policies.

So wouldn't the appropriate solution be to just refund the buyer in total?

And what does OPRA mean as the title of your message?

Opra as in Winfrey? Actress/talk show host?

Maybe the op meant opera? That’s my best guess but I could be wrong. 😂

If the buyer want to return it, you accept the return and apologize to the buyer for making a mistake.

Best to accept a return and pay for it, if the buyer is not happy with the item.  Lots of counterfeits out there these days.  Some are so good even the sharpest of authenticators can be wrong.

Good luck.

@mtoncrey68 : Somebody is making reproduction SAXOPHONES? Are you sure the buyer is not just getting cold feet over the purchase?
