I am curious to know if the number of items sold that is displayed on the products and search page by sellers if that number is only represented by sales strickly on ebay or is that number also be generated by that seller using some sort of third party listing software (sellbrite, etc). I know this may seem like a crazy question, however I have been monitoring competitors to see how well they are doing selling certain items on ebay to give me an idea how comapred to sales. I see the numbers change pretty rapid with very high numbers compared to my sales. One other thing I check is those items in the search and click Sold and Completed items and notice very little and far in between sales as compared to the number on the products page. When comparing to the sold and completed sales I am about neck and neck. Does Ebay generate that number shown from the sellers other sales outside ebay as in thier website, Amazon, walmart, etc if they are linking these listing to the third party listing software. Thanks for your input. This is something that I have questioned for sometime and finally decided to come to the source.

It represents sales ON EBAY for that specific item number regardless of the listing tool you used.
