Notifications to buyers on Listings

Just a quick question on listings. When I edit the price to be lower on a listing, are all the folks that viewed it sent a notification of the lower price? Thanks

No. People who viewed the item are not sent a notification if the price is reduced, nor are watchers, as far as I can tell.

Are watchers alerted if you put the item(s) on sale? with promotion

Watcher should be notified unless in their site preferences they have blocked such emails.

No notification is sent for a simple price reduction. Your current watchers will see the lower price, though. Folks that only viewed it will see the lower price only if they view it again.

Well I do receive notices that an item I am currently watching has dropped in price or is on sale. I've been getting those frequently the past several months now. It has also encouraged me to purchase an item I have on my watch list which I was on the fence about, so it does work....

Well I do receive notices that an item I am currently watching has dropped in price or is on sale. I've been getting those frequently the past several months now. It has also encouraged me to purchase an item I have on my watch list which I was on the fence about, so it does work....

Thanks to you both for this information. I even checked my notification settings after reading the earlier reply and don't see what I haven't 'ticked'. What do y'all know that I don't? 🤔  Specific to this thread, I mean... LOL

There is a setting under Site Preferences / Communication preferences / Buying.  You can turn on or off the notification of a price reduction.
