Nonpayment case

Can't seem to find the link anymore to open a nonpayment case.....  Where is it hidden or was it taken away?

Nonpayment case

@sfau

Alter 4 days of nonpayment, on day 5 cancel the sale due to nonpayment.

They are supposed to get the strike- /shrugs who knows if they actually do.

What is the new policy on this?

Can sellers no longer manually choose when to open UIDs?

Starting in May 2021, you’ll no longer have to file unpaid item claims or send payment reminders. Instead, when buyers haven't paid, you’ll be able to manually or automatically cancel orders through Seller Hub or My eBay Sold.

Your buyers will have four calendar days to pay for an item after they’ve committed to buy. We’ll proactively remind them to pay. If they haven’t paid within that time frame, you can cancel the unpaid order starting on the 5th calendar day.

You can..

You can allow the buyer up 21 days I believe then eBay auto cancels.

If you set it up for eBay to handle the nonpayers they cancel on day 5 for you.

So if you want to give them more time or manually cancel, just don't set your account up to auto handle nonpaying bidders/buyers.

ETA My bad it's 36 days then eBay will cancel for you..

Everyone thank you so much - I missed that announcement somehow.  And ugh it has been over 30 days so I can't cancel anymore.  Who would have thought they would change that policy!

Howdy @femmefan1946 - the 'unpaid item case' itself has been replaced with the non-payment cancellation. It still penalizes non-paying bidders, still records a strike and lets you filter out buyers who don't pay. Instead of making you open a case, wait several days, then manually close it out, this lets you cancel the transaction as early as the 5th calendar day.

If you had the 'unpaid item assistant' turned on, those transferred to the new cancellation flow, and will send a non-payment cancellation in line with those settings. To manage the settings go to: Site Preferences>Preferences for items awaiting payment (under 'Selling preferences)>Edit

Thanks!
