Non payments of items won

Why doesn't Ebay do more to help sellers, when buyers bid for an item and does not pay for the items? Ebay allows sellers to cancel listing and get fees refunded, but any negative feedback is removed from the buyer's account. There are too many bad buyers out there and there is no accountability for non-payments.

No Negs or negative comments in a positive allowed for sellers to give buyers and has been that way for ions. Best to simply move on to the next buyer and forget about it as this will NEVER EVER change (would Target put your face on a poster in the window stating 'bad customer'?- it's simply NOT retail friendly).

more to help sellers, when buyers ...not pay for the items?

EBay has recently introduced a policy of automatically opening Disputes on unpaid transactions after four days.

While this is longer than the 48 hours US based sellers had (we foreigners always had to wait 48 hours) the Dispute closes almost immediately, instead of the previous 96 hour wait.

but any negative feedback is removed from the buyer's account.

Sigh.

Who do you think reads feedback?

Not the deadbeat. He doesn't care and you just gave him a (false) positive which increased his rating.

Not eBay. They don't use FB to assess member accounts because less than 40% of any transaction gets any FB and because it is considered opinion, not fact.

Not your fellow sellers. Over 85% of listings are Fixed Price and we only see our customer after he has bought.

The reader will be your future customer.

What do you think he well do when he sees you badmouthing a buyer?

there is no accountability for non-payments.

When you open and win an Unpaid Item Dispute the buyer gets a Strike.

"Too many" Strikes and the buyer's use of the Money Back Guarantee can be ended and his account may be closed.

However, this information is kept private.

You can NOT put a negative comment in the Positive Feedback for any buyer, no matter what they do or don't do.

If you have a buyer that doesn't pay, you CANCEL the transaction for nonpayment, eBay closes the transaction and puts an Unpaid Item (UPI) Strike  in the buyer's account. While you can't see the UPI Strike, it is there for a FULL YEAR.

eBay members with 2 or more UPI Strikes in the last year can be blocked from any seller's listings if that seller blocks members for having mulitple UPI strikes.

As a seller, you should have the Buyer Requirement for blocking bids from eBayers with at least 2 UPI Strikes on their account in the last 12 months. set up. With that block, you, a seller, can block bids from your potential bidder who has been given UPI Strikes by other sellers.
