I have a new store with only 13 reviews so i cannot afford a bad review, but i have a person who bid on two collectable plates. each plate was $4.00 with $12,95 shipping. I told him i would take one of the shipping charges off. I gave him a discount of $12.95 so he was only paying one shipping charge. I explained this on his invoice and in an email. The response i got back is to see if we can work on the shipping charges. He purchased the item on the 13th. I sent him a second invoice today again explaining that  i discounted the amount of one of the shipping charges. He (or she) still has not paid for the items.

Not sure what to do at this point. Should i wait longer? Should I report it? Like i said in the beginning, i cannot afford to get a bad review because i insist he pay for at least one of the shipping fees. Afterall, the fees are clearly listed on the platform.

thank you for your help.

There is, or was at least a setting in your account preferences that lets you set an automatic unpaid item response after a certain period of time. I think I keep mine on 8 days. At that time the item is automatically canceled and relisted. Worth a look.

Regarding the FB that you saw that the buyer had received regarding nonpayment, please keep in mind that the buyer can get that FB removed and the seller will receive a "defect" for leaving that kind of feedback.

it tells me the date sold was today (maybe because i send another invoice today?) on the cancellation page, but on the item page it says it was sold on the 12th.

^^^ This is it. The timer does  reset with a new invoice, as I remember. Dang... now you wait the 96 hours. Again. Sorry...

Yeahhh... I can't say I'm surprised at that. Back when this whole topic was being discussed some months ago, I thought the clock should be reset if you send another invoice, because it would make no sense to send an invoice just before the original deadline would expire and possibly before the recipient would even see the latest invoice, but one of the Community eBay reps forwarded a reply from deep inside eBay someplace saying that the original deadline would still apply. The explanation they gave seemed a little convoluted and I wasn't entirely certain that they had understood the original question, but we took it to mean that No, the deadline did not reset just because you sent another invoice.

I think the moral in general here is: Don't send additional invoices. It's not like the buyer can't figure out how or what to pay; he would already be getting notifications from eBay about it.

More to the point: Sending an invoice locks in your Shipping charge to be that for sending the item to the buyer's eBay registered address (wherever that might be). He is free to specify some completely-different Ship-To: address when paying, and you will have to eat any overage involved in buying the postage to get it there. If you are using Calculated Shipping and not sending an invoice, then the buyer will be charged (by eBay) the correct amount to ship the item where he wants it to go.

It may have reset,

It may not have reset.

Some sellers have their settings for 4 days(the minimum), and some have it set longer, or no limit.

May need to check your settings if the cancel for non-pay doesn't show up.

Shipping half off is a hella good deal. Some people don't  know when to quit. Give rhen an inch and they'll want a mile.

😀

Give them an inch and they'll think they're a ruler.

I, too, have been experiencing at least one unpaid item a week and I am growing weary of this.  I find it ludicrous that these people can have "strikes" against them for not paying, yet have 100% feedback and their strikes show nowhere for a seller to reference.   I have setting to eliminate buyers with a certain number of no pay situations and in the past month I have had a number that were disqualified from buying due to strikes...but 100% feedback???   This doesn't seem quite fair to the seller who is just trying to get some stuff sold and be fair and make a couple bucks.  If they get the strikes...why aren't they visible to let sellers be aware if you are unable to leave negative feedback for non payment.  I find that frustrating.

Feedback for buyers is useless. No seller wants to have to read through feedback to vet their buyers.
By setting Buyer Requirements properly, sellers don't have to obsess about the feedback of potential buyers.

I have setting to eliminate buyers with a certain number of no pay situations and in the past month I have had a number that were disqualified from buying due to strikes...but 100% feedback???

Feedback for buyers is useless. The strictest setting for unpaid item strikes is to set it to 2 strikes in the past year.

This doesn't seem quite fair to the seller who is just trying to get some stuff sold and be fair and make a couple bucks.  If they get the strikes...why aren't they visible to let sellers be aware if you are unable to leave negative feedback for non payment.  I find that frustrating.

Set the unpaid item process to automatically cancel, issue a strike and relist at the 5 day mark.

To completely eliminate unpaid items, list as fixed price (Buy It Now) with "immediate payment required" and do not entertain offers.
