Has anyone else been experiencing people commiting to buying and then not paying? I've had 3 in the past month. Most of my items are over $1K and require buyer to pay for freight costs. It's usually people with lower number of purchases. I put them on my block list as soon as they refuse to reply with my pleas to pay. Just curious if anyone else is having the same problem.

Always require payment immediately for buy-it-now listings (theres an option to click that when creating the listing). Not much else you can do

It is not possible to use IPR on listings that have freight shipping.

I can't do that on freight items. Serious buyers always pay, but it seems the ones with just a couple of previous purchases are just playing games.

You can't enforce the 25 feedbacks or the ratings and it's against ebay policy to have that in your description as well as it is anti customer friendly and sounds like an amateur.
2nd- I've never understood 'Freight' and it always puts me off from trying to buy anything large that I can't pick up. There are many freight companies; pick one and use various zip codes to get pricing, then add to price as 'shipped' so customers know the real price. Use the highest from furthest zip code; you can then refund if there's a difference (seldom is there much as freight for 500 miles runs almost the same as 3000 miles)
This is the reason you are getting many not following through, they don't understand the freight process.

I assume you are opening unpaid item cases when buyers don't pay within 48 hours?
Of course, other sellers are experiencing buyers who don't pay.
"Pleas to pay"? Why? The buyer presumably knows he needs to pay for purchases.
Open the UPI as soon as you can.

There are always going to be people who make a commitment to buy an item and then do not follow through for whatever reason. This happen to many sellers including myself sooner or later. I take it all in stride and don't lose any sleep over it.
My problem is that when they decide they no longer want the item some people don't have the courtesy to let the seller know so the sale can be canceled and the item re-listed as soon as possible. When I have to open up an UPI case and the person still don't pay then I add that person's user i.d. to my BBL.
