Non-payment resolution centre

Hi,

I have opened a case with non-payment resolution centre's assistant, the buyer contacted me today to say they will be able to pay tomorrow but that would be the 5th day since the case was opened and it says the buyer has 2-4 to pay?

So I have 2 questions really 1- if I close the case with the assistant and the buyer fails to pay as promised tomorrow can I open the case again manually?

And secondly - the thread I read on this forum earlier says the buyer actually has 8 days to pay, in which case we will both be fine but in that case why does it say they have to pay in 4 days?

Any help would gratefully received!

Cheers,

Cat

do NOT close the case... it should automatically close after the buyer pays, or if the buyer fails to pay it will do what needs to be done so you can relist...

it's been a while but i'm pretty sure that's what happens... if not, someone will be sure to correct me...

either way... do NOT close the case...

Let the case run its course.  After 2 days of not paying and the seller opens the case, the buyer has 4 days to pay.  That is plenty of time.  After the 4 days, go to the resolution center and close the case.  It will tell you when.   Put the buyer on your BBL, realist, and move on.  I hate wasting my time with non-payers.

After you open an unpaid item case, you have to wait at least 4 more days before you can close it and give the buyer a nonpayment strike.   However, a seller can wait as long as they choose before closing the transaction, up to 36 days after the transaction.

If the case was opened automatically by the unpaid item assistant, then it will close automatically 4 days later unless the seller turns off the assistant. If the seller turns off the unpaid item assistant for a specific case after it has been opened, the seller can still close it manually.

In the US, a case can be opened after just 48 hours but in most places a seller has to wait 4 days before opening a case, which would give a total of 8 days between the transaction date and closing the claim.

If you close your case, you will not be able to reopen it. So just wait to see if the buyer pays.
