Non Payer

Have been experiencing ALOT of people bidding on my items, and then not paying, try contacting them, no answer, I even ask if they want me to cancel the transaction, no response. The rudeness of these people really makes selling a headache!

These are sport bidders.  They do it for the fun of it and never pay.  If you want to avoid them, post all your listings at a fixed, buy it now price, with immediate payment required.  Scammers and sport bidders normally steer clear of these types of listings.  Do not use the "best offer" option either.  Good luck.  PS Nice shop.

We feel you. I hope that you are helping all us other sellers out by cancelling on day 5, citing 'Buyer didn't pay'.

Upward and onward and all...

I had 16 no pays in Dec. at work. Its a mix of those who bid and never pay, and a few that won an item, said they're bidding on other items and wanted to combine shipping, but they never turned back up or bought anything else and just disappeared.  The policy used to be to give them through the next week, with the thought maybe some were waiting for their paychecks or something to clear but that almost never panned out. Now the sale gets canceled for non payment as soon as possible.

It has certainly gotten far worse over the past year.  Certain categories seem to attract more NP bidders than others.

BIN listings requiring immediate payment stops the NPB issue but we found it cuts down on sales.

eBay clearly needs to do more about this than they are. Bad buyers are encouraged and useful as ebay can potentially nickel and dime sellers along the way.

@gillsrock11

Looks like most of your auctions only get 1 bid.

I'd do away with auctions and list as a fixed price with immediate payment required and get rid of those nonpayers.

Have a great day.

On  your Selling form you can choose for eBay to automatically Cancel unpaid purchases after 96 hours (four days).

The buyer is notified, but does not get time to pay beyond the 96hours. This is four days faster than the manual Unpaid Item Dispute which allowed four days to pay. (US sellers were able to open the Dispute after 48 hours, the rest of the world had to wait four days.

You have to do this when you make the listing.

If you cancel, neither you nor the deadbeat have any fallout, the transaction simply did not happen. Both can leave feedback .

These eBay  "cancellations" leave the deadbeat with a Strike and the deadbeat cannot leave feedback-- just as before.

Love that idea, but thru my years of selling, seems like if I list as a Buy it Now, it never sells!

Sure, but if they don't pay, it's the same thing as never sells. On the other hand, looks like your selling choice is working from the feedback.

Hello. Me too. Just Report them and block them. If they are reported enough times Ebays says they actually do something. So frustrating. Eric
