I sent out a small package first class on April 24 and so far, there still has been no scan on the item. I think the package is lost. I didn't insure the package. Should I print out another label and resend the package?
I see that I can no longer void the shipping label. If it lost, it seems like I lose the item and the shipping that I paid for it?

Unless your buyer contacts you about a missing item, do nothing. Your buyer could well have the item in their hand at this moment. Although NO scans at all would be very, very uncommon, it can happen. Three weeks ago I received a Priority package (not an Ebay purchase) that never even showed up on my USPS dashboard. The label was fine, it was just never scanned, or if it was scanned the scans never made it through.
ETA don't do NOTHING. You can call the Post Office to check on it, but don't contact the buyer just yet.

yep, lost pretty much means you lose the item and the postage, assuming you did not insure.
I would go to the USPS site and put the "email notification" on the package...........so that you are emailed if/when it starts moving and try to hold off resending/refunding til Mon. just to see if that works any magic.

Contact your local post office with the tracking number and have them track it - their computers are usually more up-to-date on tracking than the websire.

@samz54 I've had several packages that, even though scanned at local PO and I had a receipt to prove it, did not show any scan in the system... not until pkg reached final destination and was scanned by the recipient's PO and carrier.
I would sign up for tracking updates at usps.com for the item so you get an alert if/when the package shows a scan. If no movement in a few days you can file a lost mail report.
Where did you ship the item from (post office, left in drop box or mailbox, etc)? Did it ever receive an initial scan that might not be showing at usps.com? Why don't you call your local PO and ask if they can see anything on their end?

call your areas' usps consumer affairs office, they are more help than the people at the po. usps does have an internal system on which they can track more detailed and sometimes see scans that are not showing on their website. have them check it.
if the package is indeed lost as in not showing any scans whatsoever, haven them refund you for the label as an "unused label".

As a buyer, there was one First Class package I got that didn't get any scans until the time of delivery. I was hoping the seller didn't forget to mail it when I saw no tracking updates for a few days. But by the 4th day, it arrived. The item was packaged in a flat kraft envelope. I wonder if it was just mis-sorted into letter mail as a reason why it was never scanned until delivery. Noone even noticed the tracking bar code along the way?? My carrier scanned the package upon delivery, so the only tracking notation that showed up was "Delivered".
