You need to create a Return policy for that.
Just an FYI
Even though you say No Returns, buyers can still return your items through eBay's MBG.

" create a Return policy " I cant see how that is done either in create basic return rules or advanced

Business policies can be found left hand side of screen under the Listings tab.

Hi
I did that but the listing wont accept that it returns an error message "A returns option is missing or not valid. Update your returns options"
It then forces me to create a policy accepting returns

You've reached the discussion Community for anyone who lists on ebay.com. Since you are in the UK, and you're apparently registered and listing on ebay.co.uk, your best bet is to post this issue on the ebay.co.uk discussion boards. We can't even see your listings on this platform.

You'll want to review this policy. It's very possible that your registration as a UK business seller requires you to offer returns.

There is no "no returns" when dealing with online sales. All sales are returnable. Amazon sets the table on this. And even on Ebay the MBG allows for returns. Your life on Ebay will be much better to just accept the reality of returns on online sales.

The OP is referring to a seller's return policy, not returns initiated by an MBG claim.

That option is as pointless as a bayonet lug on a heavy machine gun. It can make things worse as buyer might just file a not as described case before trying to work it out.
