Been on ebay for close to 17 years and am finally closed my store and removed all my listings. If I have to pay a fee for my items, shipping and a monthy fee to keep a store, then the way things are managed should be my way not ebay's. Taking over and causing my profits to go do drastically. No fun any more and no longer adds to my limited income.

Sorry to hear this. Wishing you luck.

You had me at "no fun any more"... Godspeed!

Yes, if you choose to not pay for a store then you are correct, Ebay is not for you. I am suprised after 17 years you just now figured it out that Ebay charges fees. The other option is drop the store and use the free monthly allotment Ebay gives you.

This is not what the OP meant. He wasn't talking about the fees, he was talking about operating his business the way he wishes since he is paying eBay to sell here. It must be about MP and/or some other forced policy(s).

There are all kinds of places you go and services you use where you have to follow their rules. People buy stuff “on eBay” so the platform has to be consistent
you can’t just go into Walmart or to a restaurant and do whatever you want. They are businesses and get to set the rules. Don’t like the rules you have to go elsewhere.

Ebay owns the site., Ebay makes the rules. If you do not like the rules you leave. Pretty simple process. I am very surprised you do not understand that.

It is a shame - you have some nice looking stuff. I would think that the economically-priced special needs bib covers have been very much appreciated by buyers.
Absolutely, if you aren't making much, and it is no longer fun, time to pack it in. OR, you can think about what would make it fun again, don't worry about the stuff you can't control, and make the best of it. Whatever your decision, good luck.

Learn to read and understand what you are reading before replying. Not the fees I am questioning.

The "rules" now set including all the new ones, benefit ebay and not the seller. I read one comment where the individual's checking account was totally ruined by 2 buyers who cancelled their payments. Seller had to pay overdraft fees and more to his bank. My bank account is my personal business, not ebay's. Only way around this is to open a separate bank account just for ebay and could include additional fees. Not a good thing.

Oh, but I do understand ebay's rules. Look harder my friend, you will see how much your profit is and how much ebay's is. They keep gaining while charging you more. Surprised you do not understand that.

Thank you for the nice reply. Most are not worth reading. Just an FYI, my bibs all of a sudden stopped selling and if I searched for them, my items did not come up. Sounds like a little black listing, doesn't it???

I understand it very well & that is why I'll leave when I can no longer use PP as MY choice. Fortunately, eBay is extremely slow in pushing MP on me. 🙂

You do realize I was just explaining what the OP was discussing, right? It is funny you mention restaurants though. I seem to believe when you go in & order your food, you tell them how you want it prepared. They don't tell you, "Sorry, we only cook our steaks medium rare." lol

If you're selling regularly, you should do that anyway. It's best to have a business account to keep it separate from your own personal transactions just for tax reporting purposes.
