Yes!   I am getting aggravated!

I wish I had better stuff to sell, stuff that was more in demand, stuff that more people want to buy.

Who can I blame?

Should I blame ebay?

Re: No Sales

As has been explained to you a few times on your other thread or threads, Auctions just don't work well for all categories and haven't since about 2014.  Now there are certain categories that can use them rather successfully, but even those for many sellers are seeing a decline.  With the exception of Collectibles, most buyers just want to purchase what they want and move on.  No patience for auctions much anymore.

Re: No Sales

Cross list onto other platforms and put less of a focus on eBay. Don't bother with spending hours on the phone with a CS rep reading from a script that can't actually help you. Only you can help yourself.

When the platform keeps declining in revenue, maybe they'll finally do something about how busted it is.

Re: No Sales

I'm going to be very frank-- your photos and titles need SERIOUS work. Your photos have tons of background clutter that both take away from whatever it is you're trying to photograph AND make you look unprofessional. If you're serious about selling, you need to set up a dedicated photo corner and get some plain white cardboard/a white sheet or towel and a good light to stage your listings. It doesn't cost much and will go a long way towards making it look like you're actually serious about what you're doing.

Also, when it comes to your titles, you need to think like a buyer. How would a buyer be searching for what you're trying to sell? I see you have a "ideal toys direct plush" listed that doesn't even mention that it's a dinosaur plush, which means you'll lose out on all of the buyers who might be looking for a plush dinosaur since yours won't even show up in their search. You get 80 characters for the title-- use as many of them as you can!

You've got some good stuff that I'm sure will sell, you just need to put in the work to make yourself look more professional and like someone buyers would feel confident purchasing from!

Re: No Sales

Hi Mam....My fault that I worded that so badly. All our sales have been BIN for a few years. I'm with you on the thought that most buyer don't want auctions anymore. But thank-you for trying to cheer me up! 🙂

Re: No Sales

Sad, because you were likely coming into a better selling season for toys.  Summer break and bored kids.  Then there is the Holiday season in a few months.

I know when my son was younger, Legos were his thing.  The big expensive sets of course.  Mama blew a lot of money on those things to be sure.

Re: No Sales

Yep, I am a long time seller of 23 years on this platform. I went from consistently supporting my family,  getting to be a stay at home mom, to the first point in many years I feel like I need to go get a "real" job. I do everything I'm supposed to be doing, excellent pictures, titles, descriptions, research, SEO, list daily, promote, end and sell similar and so on. I went from 10+ sales a day to 10 sales a week, some weeks virtually nothing. Knowing how I've always sold and seeing the drastic decline makes me think it's not on my end. The economy isn't great right now and I know that, but I sell usefully and collectors items cheap and have free shipping on 90% of my store. Something is definitely amiss. I read articles,  follow eCommerceBytes and try to get as much info as I can. Alot of these sights say ebay determines which sellers are going to have a good week. How about stick with the sellers that generate thousands in ebay fees because isn't that how guys get paid?? I wish the ppl who mattered within the decision making processes at ebay would read these forums, groups and real situations talked about by serious sellers and fix what wasn't broken to begin with.

Re: No Sales

I've been in retail for more than 50 years and it's always up and down. But it is usually tied to the economy, and right now people are fed up with the news because it's always doom and gloom and I think they're hanging on to their money just in case the doomers and gloomers are right. My husband keeps telling me we should take our retirement money out in gold coins and bury it in the back yard. He won't spend a dollar right now on anything other than necessities. I'm so glad he buys the explanations I give him when the Amazon boxes arrive...I tell him they had a deal on toothpaste, or laundry soap, or anything that he considers a necessity. And when he asks if a top is new, or a pair of shoes, I reply with...well, that's how much you pay attention, I've had this for years. He apologizes and says, oh, I remember that now...you look very pretty. It takes training to raise a good husband.

Re: No Sales

I mean, I'm sure glad that my LIVE SNAILS listings are available now in Germany... but its not really helping.

25+ Ramshornschnecken - verschiedene Farben & Größen - Futterautomaten oder Reiniger | eBay

But hey... I should just not concern myself with the slowest 48 hours of sales this year and just rejoice that my listings can be seen all over the world by people I can't ship to.

I'm sure its just a coincidence.

Re: No Sales

I’m gonna close for a few months about a week later as it’s absolutely pointless for me to continue on eBay right now. I will revaluate over the summer. I’m losing too much in returns to have any viability. I reckon there’s just too many options available to buyers at the moment which spreads the sales out thinner than in the recent past.

Ya...I'll take the next month of my precious time to end and relist my 2500++ items because eBay couldn't sell them The First TIME Around!

Great system... Not!
