I recently sold an item; however, I canceled the item due to issues. I refunded the buyer via Paypal when I canceled. I relisted the item and it sold to another person. Today, the original buyer messaged me stating the the item was not working (Hello?? I never shipped it to you, and I fully refunded you). Since I have proof that I refunded the buyer, and never shipped the item to the buyer, can anything happen? Why the heck can this person still contact me and waste my time trying to scam me?

Did you cancel the item "out of stock" or ask the buyer to cancel?
Did you know if you use out of stock to cancel it counts as a defect against you on ebay and that they will target you for a suspension?
My advice is dont use this option. As far as the person trying to scam you EBAY is full of scammers and in some cases pretend buyers who I believe are actually staff trying to see how you handle returns and refunds which I think its kind of unfair.

Paypal allows you to check your whole transactions history, my first one was in November 2000, and while I have no need to do so I could still retrieve that seller's information if I wanted to
Yes, @chiaretta I should have been more specific. PayPal allows you to *easily* retrieve your transaction history from a drop-down menu on your Activity page. You can go farther back than that, but it requires some additional work. That's for making it clear.

My question is, why the heck did you cancel the sale to the person after the item was BOUGHT and PAID for in the first place? And then go relist and sell the item to someone else??? I 'd of been **bleep** as hell if I was that buyer!! Not **bleep** enough to try and scam you but my guess is, that's exactly what happened. The buyer was **bleep** and tried to get you back. Nothing worse than idiot sellers here on eBay that sell an item and then reneg on the sale!!!! Or sellers that have listings up for items they're out of stock on!!!!!!
